I watched 2 minutes of the first show when it screened here in Oz last weekend….total crap

    Follows the same recipe:

Americans get a show with unique cultural references and “americanize” it

End result: Now looks the same as any other american sit-com

    Shame

Get the original Aussie version on DVD…oh wait that would mean you yanks would actually have (to get the humour..lacking in your version) to know about a country other than your own….thats not going to happen, is it…

@3 Agreed. yes, I’m Australian and I guess at the end of the day there’s nothing wrong with converting content designed for one market/culture to work in another market/culture (The Office? Men Behaving Badly? Dr Who?) but to use the same name and premise does seem to make a mockery of the original.

In short, the US ‘version’ is bland, unfunny, and really has no relation to the original Australian version except the names of the characters.

I agree totally with 3 & 4. I had high hopes for this and went into the first episode with an open mind. I wanted to like it but it just wasn’t funny. I have watched all the Australian series of K&K and compared to them this is just complete dross. Do yourself a favour and check out the original.

Oh god, it gets worse, i just saw another post on here and the americans got hold of another great show “Life On Mars” and they are hard at work, no doubt ruining that too.

    When will this madness end………

p.s. The Office, the US version was a fluke, and only exists because Carrell is brilliant and carries the entire rest of the cast.

Agree with all comments so far. Watched the first and was saddened by the lack of humour. Is Selma Blair supposed to have a muffin top like Kim? Seriously, Selma Blair – nice to look at and just about impossible to ugly up to hornbag aussie kim status.

This show is more funny than australian and charachters are different.

Selma Blair is hot as usual, but she just can’t do “dumb.” She’s too bright-eyed and intelligent looking to pull that off.

    Good news ????
Channel 7 in Australia ran this series from early Oct(they prev ran the last Aust series) BUT WITHDREW IT AFTER 2 EPISODES.
The viewing figures in the second week dropped out of sight – and for a programme which (in its Aust form) had been top 5 every week.

    Overall, the show fightens me.

It either represents how far the "entertainment" industry has sunk, how completely brainless we are as a society, how completely incompetent so called actors have become or how imbeciles can get jobs as writers in Hollywood because their Dad knows somebody.

Please…everyone…we need a renaissance of thought before its too late.

    p.s. Selma Blair IS hot!!
