It looks that next few days will be really rich in terms of music posts here at Releaselog: here’s another one for our competition from user TXST.

Volume 3 in K-Rino’s three cd compilation “Triple Darkness” entitled “Coalition Ambush”. This is an instant classic, marketh the words of me! It’s not a perfect 10 out of 10 simply because a couple tracks didn’t send the chills down my spine like EVERY song on a perfect 10 album is supposed to.

K-Rino is no newcomer to the industry. He’s been releasing material on Black Book International Records since 1995. Many of the tracks are typical bass heavy beats which can easily be enjoyed in your vehicle; however the lyrics are very questionable.

    Man.. I just listened to this and I have to say It’s Trash! At least that is my opinion.. simple lyrics, simple beats If you like Dr Suess Rhymes you might be able to enjoy this. I got kinda excited when I saw he was a 5%er thinking he would Sound like somebody associated with Wu Tang but, nope.. not gonna happen. /toss!

    While I have respect for this dude and his status as a Houston rapper, I have to say that this release is horrible. Then again, that whole Houston sound is not my thing. I think it’s unimaginative, far from funky, and lyrically embarrassing. The fact that cats like Chamillionaire could even be considered upper echelon rappers is confirmation to me that rap music has lost it’s fkn mind. Whatever happened to break-beats and rhyming? Real beats and real rhymes, not these over-bassed fisher price beats with cat in the hat “rhymes”.

    Nas was right when he said “Hip-Hop is dead”. At least real Hip-Hop anyways. Death by loss of identity.
