K-Os – Yes! (2009)

Here is the new album from Canadian alternative hip hop star K-Os, who has quite a following in the Great White North, as well as from hardcore hip hop fans.

Though it seems to have slipped through the radar of most, Canadian hip-hopper and innovator extra-ordinaire k-os is prepping the release of his fourth album, “Yes!”. The follow up to 2006’s Atlantis: Hymns for Disco, Yes! promises to be a “return to roots” for the artist, who was loosely criticized for his slight abandoning of hip-hop on his previous album.

Initially intended for a 2008 release. Yes! has seen its fair share of struggles. But with a new label (Universal, previously EMI), the album is slated to see the light of day this coming March.

What the hell does "hardcore hip-hop" mean anyway?

From the looks of it, "hardcore hip-hop" is where hiphop and emo converge.

K-OS is a breath of fresh air into the stale hip hop scene that too often likes to just talk about how much money/cars/bling they have, how they can rap better than the rest, and what they're gonna do to all their ho's.

This is considered "Underground" Hip hop. 4321 is a great song.
