Juno DVDSCR XViD-HLS

After the p2p release of this movie it was to be expected that a scene group would also release this movie. There are two differences between this version and the p2p version firstly its a scene release of course and secondly its only 700 Mb otherwise pretty much the same. Enjoy as I only noticed one watermark and no black and white scenes!.

Update : Juno.DVDSCR.HLS.EXPOSED-SCENENOTICE

Update III : [UNNUKE] [ XVID ] [ Juno.DVDSCR.XViD-HLS ][ not.stolen.see.dvdr.proof ]

The word “quirky” has become the quick and easy way to describe films such as LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and LARS AND THE REAL GIRL that straddle the lines between indie and studio films and comedy and drama. While JUNO fits into that same category, this distinctive dramedy is in a class all its own. Ellen Page(X-MEN: THE LAST STAND) stars as Juno, a witty teenage girl whose boredom doesn’t lead her to the mall. Instead, she makes a one-time trip into the arms of her best friend Paulie Bleeker (Michael Cera). When Juno discovers that she’s pregnant, she’s forced to grow up fast as she tries to find adoptive parents for her quickly growing child.

IMDB lists this movie as being 92 minutes long. This release is 96 minutes long. So I assume it’s better to have four more minutes than four less minutes, right? I don’t know. The video quality is excellent by the way.

Blake Ellen Page also starred in Hard Candy. I suggest everyone also give Hard Candy a go. I suggest those who wish to check Hard Candy to not bother about checking its plot. Its more fun getting into the movie without any idea about what the film is.

    January 13th, 2008 | 15:54

joe wright: The scene has rules and groups that are in the scene have to follow these rules or else they get nuked ( labeled as a bad release)
Peer-to-peer are nowadays torrent groups that don’t live by scene rules, thus can’t get nuked.

Scene rules are there to insure quality.

Previous release of Juno was 1 GB big. When a group in the scene releases a film, it’s either 700 mb or 1,4 GB, depending on the length.

There are many other rules, you can easily google them.

Most of the time it’s better to go for a scene release (unless it’s nuked for whatever reason)
Websites that come in handy to check up on scene releases:

    http://www.nforce.nl
    http://www.vcdquality.com
and of course this fantastic site

Hope this helps a little to understand p2p and scene releases.

    > “I am 60 years old and I have just started in the internet world. Can you explain to me the difference between a p2p release and a scene release?(Sure is a stupid question for most of you but like i said I m a bit old but i m trying to move forward with the world. Thanks)”

The scene is a bunch of people who have a bunch of ultra-private ultra-fast servers, and there are a very large amount of groups racing to be the first to release something. Of course, most scene releases do get on to P2P (like bittorrent) in the end.

P2P releases are just releases that were put on P2P networks first, often by P2P groups or just individual people without access to the scene or not wanting to put their releases there.

While the scene has a lot of specific rules (like it has to be a certain filesize – 700MB or any multiple of it), P2P doesn’t, as it is far more decentralized. This can be good or bad – sometimes the rules can hinder better quality (then the standard), but the rules can enforce a minimal quality standard.

You’ll still have to read the comments on the torrent to find out if it is the whole movie and such – both scene and P2P groups mess up.

    Hope I could help :)

    @ Joe wright

I believe p2p release is released by some individual stupid somehow got the movie and out of excitement and curiosity to get the attention, ripped it in such a way that we would barely see the last 10 mins or some crap like that. lol

Well scene release is I believe a bunch of idiots (omg lol) who come up with a brand name like puke, pee, shyt, crap, dayum, nonsense, etc who somehow managed to steal the movies from wherever and rip it in a good way and so we can watch it before even the movie hits the theater.

Keep up the good work, thanks for this movie. lol

It’s interesting this movie didn’t raise a huge sh1t-storm in the bible-belt since it’s about underage pregnancy (she’s 16). Yet it’s a mainstream Hollywood movie.. might be some hope on the horizon yet.

Once again Hollywood refuses to show any realistic side of teen pregnancy. No, girls, never consider an abortion at age 16, because it’ll all end in a fairy-tale! And you’ll look so cute carrying around little baby!

Really, this movie is worse than abstinence education. It teaches young girls that pregnancy is a joke.

And finally, I remember when Michael Cera was cool (arrested development).. Now, Michael Cera is the new Zach Braff. For shame.

ok guys, the “exposed” nfo u see, wheres the actual proof, its I am legend dvdscr all over, the p2p release had a stupid watermark, bad ivtc, hell even out of sync, iMBT DID steal the release they shouldnt even be allowed a computer never mind be in the scene, with the i am legend the “ths” watermark was the proof, wheres the proof for this? honestly all im seeing is “p2p got it 10 hours ago, scene released an hour ago, thats enough proof you know…” no i dont know, considering there is over 100 discs of this movie sent out to critics and such, wheres the actual proof that HLS actually downloaded from p2p and re-released it? hell, atleast it was encoded properly to fit on a CD and not some 1click encoding app used.

the thing about interfilm.ru their TC of the movie i can never remember(check nfo), you guys realise yes they probably got it from there (alot of scene groups get their r5’s from that torrent site and sync over english audio) but wheres the proof? them r5’s are circulated around private rings before they hit scene,p2p,etc sometimes.

im still waiting on someone saying SCENE SUCKS P2P ROX, wonder what releases they download…

  85. !
    January 13th, 2008 | 19:36

    SCENE SUCKS P2P ROX!

    First, I AM LEGEND
Then, No Country For Old Men
    NOW, JUNO

Can’t wait for the rest, Scene Suck’s, its not what it used to be. I don’t care if they are stealling p2p releases, because according to the law, were all stealing….!!!!

  86. noone
    January 13th, 2008 | 19:36

No, scene doesnt suck, but sometimes the masses can do better then the l33t!!!

And in this case p2p kicked scenes ass!!! Even though not properly sized, the release was fine!!!

So the HLS one was really a “dupe”.

Personally i see this coming to us, that p2p is gonna win ground compared to the scene, releasing stuff faster and better due to not having these intense rules!!!

    p2p vs scene…
    get it on!!!

the-real-anti-p2p(copy) DONT BE SO ANNOYING, already had to change my nick because some idiot was doing the same thing, @88, ok I Am Legend, i said before, p2p beat scene by what? a day for their own source, the first p2p release was out of sync, bad ivtc(glitching) and had some stupid watermark on it, tell me how that is better than the ThP DVDR release that is ripped direct from the source without any watermarks or sh1t like that? tell me how the scene sucks when about 95% of the releases around are from the SCENE, sure the odd time the scene is beat by p2p, always has been that way, but the scene atleast does better quality rips

@89, how is the HLS release a dupe?there was no other scene release…

@90 divx is old and xvid is opensource overall a better codec

@91, there wasnt a p2p blurred release if i rightly remember? so whats your point? you guys really dont get that these dvd screeners are passed around 6000+ people, show me some releases where p2p has beat the scene with RETAIL dvdrip/dvdr releases. dont bother showing where p2p has beat with CAM releases because about 99% of them have just been silvers bought off the streets, improperly ripped and uploaded, watching a widescreen release encoded as 4:3 isnt nice im sure…

you dont have to click the flyupload link 10 times, cause theirs and easier way.

    First: click “Continue To Download”

I find it so funny that the scene hates p2p so much, yet they steal a movie from it. This is obviously the earlier release on p2p networks, and all that’s different is they re-encoded it, and added their name to it. What’s up with the scene these days? It’s filled with hypocritical jerks!

I saw this in the theater it was a good movie, not great, the way everybody makes it out to be, the music was the best part of the movie, the lead actress did a good jobs, there was no real twist in the plot, you knew from the beginning how the story would end, but still worth a download.

@92 thanks a lot for the link
@ 107, I used link from #92, and the movie is complete with credits and all.

I really don’t care about what HLS did, they got it out there and that’s all that matters right? I mean it is funny talking about property and rights on a piracy forum anyways.

In BalD’s defense though, he didn’t re-encode the piratebay source for No Country for Old Men as he was able to supply the source DVD-R as well. No Country for Old Men was never stolen.

  140. scene or nonscene - quality!
    January 14th, 2008 | 04:13

The 1,12 GB non-scene release has the superior video quality (720*468 non-square pixels) when compared to the HLS scene release (592*320 px). Both have the same aspect ratio.

Since I watch all movies on a computer with MPC or VLC or the like, I don’t give a damn about size specifications – as long as the encoding parameters are chosen sensible.

All this fighting over who stole what from whom is just stupid. If the various groups didn’t place so much emphasis on getting releases out first and putting their name all over them, this wouldn’t happen.

As for the size issue; I’ve heard it said that scene releases are always sized to fit on one or two CDs because that’s what most Divx certified players will play. Divx certified players were created because people wanted to be able to play the videos they get off the net and they played what was in use at the time. If the groups started releasing files that were larger than a CD, the players would be updated to handle them. I know someone with a Divx player and it had no problems with a DVD-R I burned, so space isn’t really an issue any more.

Unless the DVDR has menus, a DVDR release doesn’t mean squat in terms of proof.

TGP’s sister group and xvid division IMBT re-encoded I Am Legend from p2p source. That same source was used by TGP to author into a DVDR. The same can be said about this HLS release. Look at the resolution of the p2p source.

    @165
    Q: Which release to get?

A: Get the 1,12 GB non-scene release if you want the best video quality available.

Get the 700 MB HLS release if downloading bandwidth, filesize and it being playable on standalone devices is essential.

Both do most probably stem from the same source (or maybe the nonscene is even the source for the HLS), they have the same tiny shorty non-obtrusive property messages and excellent audio (HLS’s is slightly louder). The nonscene thingy just has higher and better resolution. I started watching HLS, but when I realized how good this flick is I dl’ed the 1,12 GB release and watched that.

This is a good bad movie and nothing more. The only meaningful scene was between father and daughter when she announced her pregnancy. Otherwise, it was predictable, the lead overacted, but the music was appropriate for a fluffy, feel good comedy.

The ‘50 files’ are probably just the 50 .RAR archive files. RAR files are like zip files, a lot of these videos are archived inside about 50 RAR files. Just download them all and extract the ~700mb AVI file inside of it.
