Just one day after the premier, we get a camrip of this fairly highly anticipated SciFi film; the Journey to the Center of the Earth. This type of movie isn’t exactly my cup of tea, but if you want to see this, the last thing you should do is download it, as the quality is pure crap.

Quality: Blurry, pixelated, dark, bad framerate and crap audio. Doesn’t get much worse, unless this was a VCD ;)

A science professor whose radical theories have completely tarnished his reputation. While backpacking across Iceland with his nephew Sean, the two explorers find a cave that leads them deep down into the bowels of the planet. And so they go on a quest to find out what has happened to the scientist’s missing brother, a scientist, his nephew and their mountain guide discovers a fantastic and dangerous lost world in the center of the earth. There they discover a bizarre landscape filled with terrifying creatures.

    I’m quite sure someone will make a vcd out of this and that someone will actually watch that vcd.. I grew up with vhs, which was not as bad as this screener, though there we’re also illegal cam type vhs screener’s way back then, those we’re worse..

    Huh, I thought this movie was only being released into theatres as a 3D movie; Brendan’s not my most favorite actor, and I haven’t even seen any trailers for this movie, but it seems interesting enough, hopefully better than the original ;) thanks rlslog for the links

    Your typical VCD was of much better quality than almost any Cam release, so I’m not sure what you meant there. VCD’s were generally equivalent to a good VHS, which is a big improvement over most Cam releases. I apreciate the effort in Cam recordings, but they’re rarely if ever worth watching.

    Yea, BoJangles, it’s pretty clear what was meant. You see, nothing is filmed in “vcd”, so therefore, cam cannot be compared to “vcd”. Cam is a source file type, and “vcd” is a conversion file type. Do you see the option to rip any file to cam in any software, anywhere?

    This film should ONLY be viewed in 3D. It will be terrible otherwise. In 3D its actually not half bad with great SFX however in 2D it would be a waste of time and money.

    Pretty clear what was meant? I only said that to give him some benefit of the doubt that he doesn’t even know much about VCDs. VCDs are almost always from good source material such as a DVD, so to suggest that it would be worse if released as a VCD doesn’t really make sense. Even a VCD-formatted file can resolve much better quality than this source provides.

    Yo, BJ, you’re still not making any sense. The source is the same whether it is converted to a divx/xvid file, or a vcd of the same approximate size. It’s still a cam source. Are you saying that the vcd process improves the original source, or that it provides a better quality conversion than divx/xvid is capable of using the same source?

    It sounds like you aren’t clear on what the, or a, source is.

    You expect a good quality CAM of this movie? It is in 3D and I’d hate to tell you but when you take off the glasses at the theatre you can’t really see anything. Unless you put a pair of 3D glasses on the camera or watch it with 3D glasses at home I don’t think you will see half the details or effects.
