Johnny Cash – The Great Lost Performance (2007)

Are you sick of all this electronic music, rap or hip hop? Go for country! Johnny Cash is a real legend and you can download this really fresh album now thanks to group EON. The Great Lost Performance is basically live concert performed by Cash back in 1990 in New Jersy. This is an ideal music if you want to calm down a bit in this fast-moving world…

On July 27, 1990, Johnny Cash took his revue to The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and performed a truly unique and wonderful concert, captured on multi-tracks that lay dormant until recently mixed and edited for this near hour-long CD. Terrific performances of his greatest hits are here I Walk The Line, Ring Of Fire, etc. A wonderfully upbeat Cash and wife June Carter Cashs stories and introductions punctuate the music June contributes a boisterous Jackson duet with Johnny local songstress Lucy Clark duets on the first performance anywhere at the time of Johnnys What Is Man? and the singer performs the only recorded version anywhere of the classic gospel song Wonderful Time Up There. A great lost performance is found.

Johnny Cash (born J. R. Cash, February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American, multi Grammy Award-winning influential country/Rock and Roll singer-songwriter. Cash was the husband of country singer and songwriter June Carter Cash. Cash was known for his deep, distinctive voice, the boom-chick-a-boom or “freight train” sound of his Tennessee Three backing band, his demeanor, and his dark clothing, which earned him the nickname “The Man in Black.” He traditionally started his concerts with the simple introduction “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.”

Actually I’m sick of the labels raping Johnny’s corpse in a sickening effort to squeeze more money out of it.

Karl, happens to every band eventually once intelectual rights hit the fan. I’ll download it. Think of it like a way of sticking it to the label while respecting the man himself!
