Awesome release.
“Jimi Hendrix rocks”
agreed
Ooooooh yeahhhhhhhhh!
Whats with all the naked women in sample 2.Saw Jimi at Isle of Wight in 70.
oh my, oh my!
thanks!
Another dopehead that couldn’t pay the rent at the place he died. Noel Redding’s career was screwed by Hendrix and his overblown ego.
Agreed, Eric. Fat Mattress could have been the bigger than The Beatles if it weren’t for that lousy guitar player from Seattle.
Hrrmph! “The Experience”. Who the hell did he think he was?
why do you even bother to check the review if you already hate Jimi? Just because ya want to be haters, oh jimi ruined Noels career, well screw Noel for not having a set of his own balls then hey! lol Ill say thanks RLSLOG, i will download and enjoy the amazing talent Jimi had, because thats all i care about, the talent.
Eric and Carl
Are you crazy? Noel Redding? Pfft he was good but he was not the lead of the group. They all worked well as a group, however Jimi was far ahead of his time not only when it came to music but also challenging the conformist attitudes that were being shattered all through the 1960s.
Ok fine you liked Noel Redding and blah blah blah. But you show utter ignorance making statements like “lousy guitar player from Seattle”. Both of your statements are reflected by a very small fraction of people in the world, sort of like your bran cavity.
All of your great guitar players recognize Jimi as the father of the electric guitar so go chill out and listen to some Fat Mattress knuckleheads
thanks Shiny for a great post.
almost didn’t see it with the flood of crappy documentaries by a certain someone, whom i will here refer to as Mr. X
Jimi Hendrix was the greatest.
I want a bran cavity.
Jimi Hendrix was the greatest guitarist of his generation, but this documentary is absolutely terrible. I cannot believe that something quite so unprofessional has even been released commercially - it looks more like a high school video project, and a particularly awful one at that.
‘Silver Screen Investments Limited’…hmmm, really?
@Eric: Noel Redding ?? the average basist ??
Are you fucking kidding me ? Jimi was the great artist here, the rest of the band had trouble keeping up with him.
And not like Redding wouldnt have had chances to bigger than “Beatles” later on. Heh..
And it was not like he was just awesome guitar player, the talent of composing the music. Also, I like his singing aswell, which i guess is the most critized area.
Anyway, the amount of albums, books and films after Hendrix death is huge. In a way its a good thing, but at least this documentary among the albums of “studio outtakes” and books such as “Inner life of Jimi Hendrix” by his “wife” Monika Dannemann, are just efforts to keep the money machine running.
Well, I didn’t say anything about Jimi’s guitar playing; after all I’m not Eric Clapton or Brian, two people I would consider worthy of reviewing Hendrix’ skill as a guitarist. As for Noel, well its like ‘who is Jack Bruce?’
Yes I know I omitted Brian’s surname, it is May.
Jesus Effin Christ. How old are you guys? if you lived in the 70s that mean you old. I’m talkin geriatric old right here.
“Well, I didn’t say anything about Jimi’s guitar playing; after all I’m not Eric Clapton or Brian, two people I would consider worthy of reviewing Hendrix’ skill as a guitarist.”
Do you have to be monkey yourself, to notice Michael Jackson to be one ?
@17 you must have done well on the Miller Analogies, or are you still in grade 8 for the 4th year?
If you question the genius of Jimi Hendrix as a guitar player you’re a brain dead moron-there’s no way around that. Even today just about every guitar magazine poll ranks Jimi in the top five greatest players of all time.
As for this documentary–it blows. I’ve seen every Jimi Hendrix movie, documentary, (M)TV special, and concert video made. This thing ranks at the bottom. Basically ANYTHING on video about Jimi Hendix will be better than this.
