Jimi Hendrix: Discography

nullOk here is my second Discography for the week. I intent to make one of these once a week. So if anyone has a request of a singer which they’d like to see a post about just ask me and if I feel like it I’ll post it.I guess everyone has heard of Jimi Hendrix, who was pretty big in the late 60’s and still his legacy still lives on. He is widely considered to be the greatest guitarist in the history of rock music by other musicians and commentators in the industry. There are still many other BOOTLEGS or unreleased albums which aren’t posted here, if you want it here just request it. Enjoy!

If you don't like Jimi Hendrix you have bad taste in music.
Sorry gustavo and buzz to break it to you if you didn't already know. 2pac4ever, that would be a waste of time, hard disk space and bandwidth.

Apparently this post was needed, as there are all these idiots out here who seem to have never heard jimi b4, its also awfully sad that people are askin for r&b and 2pac in these comments. and thx for the post i needed to clean out my old p2p jimi files and get a real discography so sweet, i think you should do led zep, sabbath (including dio years) or pink floyd discog next.

No offense, but people who wants that zillion fake albums what came out – with his name on the cover – after 2pac died, are ridiculous and go to some hiphop/rnb site to complain and download.
If anybody wants my opinion at RLSLOG: it would be perfect if you could packing and uploading stand-up comedy/spoken word packs (George Carlin, Eddie Izzard, Henry Rollins, Bill Hicks) or discograhys from bands like Misfits, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters…
Or I could imagine some OST-packs (I still don't have the scene releases of the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks made by Yoko Kanno…) so its up to you :D
Vantec thanks for Hendrix!

"Jimi_Hendrix-Axis-Bolder_Than_Love-2CD-2005-SER"

It's 'Bold As Love'. Not Bolder Than…

Hendrix is a good pick for a discog, but either only go for the actual studio releases (and spell them right) or include all the other stuff floating around (bootlegs and demos etc) – this post just seems a bit lazy.

That's meant as constructive criticism. Like I said, Jimi's a good choice, and the naysayers would do well to open their minds a little and educate themselves to some of the revolutionary music on show here. Hendrix changed the face of popular music, and whether you like him or not, only fools ignore his impact.

April 26th, 2009 | 00:05

Nice one. I think some people may not realise that without artists shuch as Hendrix, the music they enjoy may not have been created. Everyone has differing tastes in the tunes they enjoy, it would be nice if some people could simply learn to appreciate that fact and show respect instead of ignorance. There are so many bands/artists from this era that you could almost create a seperate section just to accommodate them all. Maybe a mix of discographies from both old and new artists would make everyone happy. Thanks for the post, I like all kinds of music so this goes in the ever expanding collection.

April 26th, 2009 | 00:28

No one gave links for the BBC sessions.. That of which has some exceedingly cool alternate versions of his original songs.. Most of which you'll probably hear for the first time.

http://www.amazon.com/BBC-Sessions-Jimi-Hendrix-Experience/dp/B000007OJ9

Ignore the 4.5 star rating.. that 2CD is a keeper for any Hendrix fan.

56. LaughingSam
April 28th, 2009 | 20:38

Yeah. Newbs start with Are You Experienced or Smash Hits. He officially put out 3 studio, 1 live and 1 greatest hits in his 4 year major recording career. Each original album shows some artistic growth and they get progressively more loose and out there. Work your way up to the heavy stuff slowly and if you ever have inclination to do psychedelics, make sure there is some Hendrix around, then your whole soul will experience something it had all but forgotten about…

Hi, "Axis: Bolder Than Love" is the right spelled name of the 2005 2CD Purple Haze Records (HAZE010).

The first CD is "Axis: Bold As love", Jimi's 2nd Album from 1967.
The second CD is the live performance Jimi made in Paris at the Olympia on january the 29th 1968. This material is already present in numbers of CDs like Stages Paris 68.

There is absolutely no previously unreleased material so it's only if you do not already have the original albums…
