hey guys don’t use jetico personal firewall because whenever i
close jetico, the system hangs and eventually i have to restart my comp and there is also a bug inside i.e whenever it’s run at startup it again hangs my comp it’s only crap it’s better to use sunbelt firewall as it provides with u latest threats of internet

I tried Jetigo – and found it to be nice at first, but after about a week of use it “out-learned” itself. It “learns” as you do stuff – but it eventually learns so much that it can’t handle the load – and becomes useless, and unstable. I wen’t back to old school – Sygate, and haven’t had an problems since.

I used the Outpost / Nod32 combination for a long time – until Outpost became the incompatible bloatware it is now. I had enough with it being suddenly incompatible with Nod32 – and a lot of other programs – tring to be the “all in one” instead of sticking to firewalling (even the “Firewall pro” version does it – just not as much as the other. So Nod32 stays – andOutpost can hang out.. at the… post.???

What is the point? Windows has a built-in firewall, and nearly ALL routers have a hardware firewall too.

Took an “old hp pentium 3 w/ 256 megs or ram, installed smoothwall and 2 nics……tada computers cost $30, and the smothwall is FREE 2 nics paying around. Cant beat that IMO

Smoothy has now a new version that allows you to use wireless nics too

The interface of this one looks clear and the size it’s ok – probably unbloated.
One of the best software firewalls is sygate personal firewall pro 5.5 build 2710.
