Jersey Girl 2004 720p HDDVD x264-SiNNERS

And SiNNERS, one of the main groups in the HD-scene, just released Jersey Girl (2004). I haven’t heard anything of the movie so I can’t really give you information about that. What I DO know is that the screen quality is perfect and audio is as expected from HD. Have fun!

In New York, the young executive Oliver “Ollie” Trinke is a successful PR of the music industry. He meets and falls in love for Gertrude Steiney, who soon gets pregnant. However, she dies in the childbirth and Ollie decides to return to his father’s home in New Jersey. Pressed by the situation of lonely father, the workaholic Ollie blows-up in an important press conference and makes a fatal statement, losing his job and becoming blacklisted in his publicist career. He promises to be the “best father in the world” to the young Gertie, and stays single, grieving his beloved wife, without dating any woman for seven years and trying to retrieve a position of public relation. One day, he meets the rental clerk Maya, they become friends and she helps him to supersede his past life.

Not Kevin Smiths best movie, but very watchable!

Just don’t expect Clerks or Jay and Silent Bob stuff.

I love Kevin Smith, but this is not his typical stuff. This is… Romantic comedy. Not even that much comedy, when I think of it.
I don’t think it is that bad, though. Family-ish. Cosy. Yeah, it could be something to watch with the family. Very different from all the other movies Kevin Smith made.

Agree with therapix, though: An evening with Kevin Smith is gold.

Kevin smith is a good Director/producer/Writer. most of his movies get solid 7 – 8 Scores and are pretty witty and original, Ben Affleck stars in many of his movies, either big or very tiny uncredited roles, like the guy asking for a burger in Clerks 2, he is a close friend of Kevin smith and Jason Lee.

This is an average movie, but does it truly merit a 720P rip?

This is the only movie Kevin Smith made that I’d have to say sucks. Even Chasing Amy was watchable but this was pure crap..

I don’t see why he’s confused that Affleck is in a Kevin Smith movie unless he’s being sarcastic. Affleck’s been in all of em but Clerks.

Chasing Amy was… well… boring. This one is the worst one. Clerks I is a masterpiece, one of the only movies I could watch once a month and still laugh about the dialogs.

BTW, there’s a movie with “Jay” starring Paris Hilton, Kevin Smith is credited in it as well. WORST MOVIE EVER.

The best quality for a 720p HD-DVDrip is at 8GB! You can see the difference between 8GB and 4GB releases! So its 8GB or nothing for me!

Not as bad as people are claiming it to be, it’s just a feelgood family movie minus the usual drug humour and theres some sexual humour but it’s all kept PG-13. Smith tried to create a movie that was like curly sue, or those other movies that never did well in the cinema anyway and he pretty much suceeded.
    I give it a 6.5/10

If, like some others here, you think Chasing Amy was Kevin’s worst flick, then you should probably avoid this like the plague.

Personally I think it’s his best, and although I’d rather watch Dogma & Clerks 2 over this, it is still a pretty good film. I don’t know if I’d bother with a HD release though. You can probably find it dirt cheap on DVD anyway.

This is such a departure from Smith’s usual style that you can’t really discount it completely just because his name is attached, and likewise, if you like Smith, you won’t automatically like this.

This isn’t Kevin Smiths “Normal” type of film, however, if you get past the “Kevin Smith” thing and just pretend someone else made it, it is actually pretty damn good. It is definitely something you would want to watch with a girlfriend or something, if you have access to the female species.
