Pop singer-songwriter Jem rose to prominance with her last album, Finally Woken, and the hit singles “24″ and “They”.  FM has the Advance Copy of her new album, Down to Earth… it’s not much of an advance, only about 2 weeks, but it’s better than nothing, isn’t it?  Upon a prelminary listen, it’s a bit more upbeat and not as atmospheric as her old stuff… but it should be good for anyone who likes the alternative styled pop.

Jemma Griffiths (born June 18, 1975 in Penarth, Wales), better known as Jem, is a Welsh singer-songwriter known for her eclectic musical stylings. Her debut album, Finally Woken, includes elements of rock, New Wave-styled electronica and trip-hop. Along with electronic producer Guy Sigsworth (Björk, Frou Frou), she wrote the song “Nothing Fails”, which was later reworked by Madonna and appeared on her 2003 American Life album. Her second album Down to Earth is to be released in September 2008.

    I’m so disappointed in myself that I actually remember the cartoon the above commenter mentioned. My cousin use to watch that cartoon as a kid and I was FORCED to watch it while I stayed in their house. It was a form of torture. I was scarred for life. This brings back too many memories. I’m gonna jump out of my one-storey window. Maybe I wont make it…
