Jedi Mind Tricks - A History Of Violence (2008)

I almost exclaimed in excitement when I saw this release: group HHB released an advance version (promo voices etc) of new album from Jedi Mind Tricks! A History Of Violence won’t be released until the next week, but you can get it right now and enjoy these super fine hip hop tunes.

A History of Violence is the upcoming sixth album by Philadelphia hip hop group Jedi Mind Tricks, to be released November 11, 2008 on Babygrande Records. The album will mark the return of Jus Allah, who split from the group after their 2000 album Violent by Design. The album will follow multiple summer releases from the Jedi Mind Tricks camp, including the group’s first DVD, titled Divine Fire: The Story of Jedi Mind Tricks, and the Vinnie Paz-executive produced projects Jedi Mind Tricks presents Doap Nixon: Sour Diesel, Jedi Mind Tricks presents King Syze: The Labor Union, and Jedi Mind Tricks presents Outerspace: God’s Fury. The album’s first single “Monolith” was released on October 2, 2008 and is available for free at Babygrande’s official website. Their second single “Godflesh” was released on their website featuring King Magnetic and Block McCloud.

Jedi Mind Tricks (JMT) is a hip hop trio with two members from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and one from Camden, New Jersey. The group was founded by two high school friends rapper Vinnie Paz (Vincenzo Luvineri) and producer / DJ Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind (Kevin Baldwin). In 1999 the New Jersey rapper Jus Allah (James Bostick) joined the group to record the 2nd studio album by JMT, Violent by Design but left shortly after for reasons that remain unexplained. The track “The Rebuilding” (2006) marked his unofficial return to JMT since the split, however he is set to make a full fledged return aside Vinnie Paz for the 6th studio album, A History of Violence (2008).
