Jay-Z: Kingdom Come

The return of big Jay-Z is here. This very controversial rapper presents his new album in quite a different light than all his previous work. But it doesn’t change anything on his qualities and really nice lyrics. A must have for all rap fans…

Kingdom Come is the upcoming album from Jay-Z, scheduled to be released on November 21, 2006. The title is inspired by a DC Comics miniseries called Kingdom Come, about Superman returning from retirement to save the world. The album will mark the end to Jay-Z’s self-declared retirement. Production will be supplied by Kanye West, Just Blaze, Timbaland, Dr. Dre and The Neptunes, and guest appearances are scheduled for West as well as Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin. An appearance by former rival Nas is also expected, following the recent signing of the Queens rapper to Def Jam, which further promoted the truce made between the two rappers at Jay-Z’s “I Declare War” Concert. Likewise, Jay-Z is scheduled to appear on Nas’ new album entitled Hip-Hop Is Dead. The title track, produced by Just Blaze, samples “Super Freak” by the late Rick James. Jay-Z’s third single “Lost Ones,” produced by Dr. Dre, was recently leaked to the Internet. At the MTV Europe Video Music Awards, Pharrell confirmed that he produced a track that featured both Jay-Z and Usher.
