Jay-Z - American Gangster (2007)

Sorry for being away these days. I traveled to some cities dealing with work affairs. Some earlier drafted posts will be published in 1-2 days. Before that, I’ll introduce two major releases. Here is the first: Jay-Z’s latest studio album “American Gangster”, featuring producers and guests like JD,JB, The Neptunes etc. It’s released by Group CR, which is a high-profile group in doing R&B and Hip-hop things. Currently I have no time to have it a play, so I reserve my comments about this album. Your rating is highly welcomed!

American Gangster is the tenth studio album by rapper Jay-Z. It is set to be released on November 6, 2007 in the United States. American Gangster is a “concept album” which is inspired by the film of the same name.

I thought this guy retired a few years ago…or yeah cocaine is expensive. This ‘rapper’ is the worst of the worst commercial rappers out there, he’s such a huge sellout it’s any wonder his album wasn’t named after a clothing line or something.

For I short moment I thought he made the soundtrack for the movie. I’m so relieved he didn’t. I can’t find the words to describe how much I hate his music. You can’t really call it music anyways. Soulless noise suits him better.

jay z used to be cool, b4 he blew up tho, when he still had that energy to come up with sick flows that could match against big l’s…but when you get possessed by the success you forget where your roots came from and he was no rnb cheesy rapper back in the day. as for attaching himself with the movie’s name…that’s pretty corny as well…seems he didn’t watch the movie as it sucked.

of course he’s a sell out, what would you do? if you grew up poor in a Brooklyn housing project, with no marketable skills other than rapping and hustling, would you go back to the dirty streets after making a hit record? of course not, i would exploit it to no ends and have little wannabees like you guys buy my records and buy my clothes for your little hoes.it’s big pimpin baybee, now wheres my chapstick beyotch!!!!!!!!!!1

Everybody quit hatin’.. This whole page is full of a buncha lies.. This album is crazy! Way better than Kingdom Come & almost as hot as The Black Album. All you U.K. skeptics out there check out the Grey Album. It’s the Beatles’ White Album blended with Jay-Z’s Black Album mixed by DangerMouse of Gnarles Barkley. That project is dope too. Google it son. Do your homework before you hate.

@26 I actually like the more RnB-styled production - they sound more fluid and dynamic than the usual Rap track. I haven’t listened enough to know good the lyrics compare to some of his other ones, but this album sounds pretty ace to me at least in production values.

Everybody needs to stop hatin’, for some non jay-z fans you sure put a lot of effort into listening to his music and making negative comments about him. Since Jay has started rappin’ he has always stated he was a hustler more than a rapper, and a hustler puts out what’s in demand and if that’s a commercial album then so be it. Besides who in the music industry puts out non-commercial album and sales the numbers he does. If u just don’t like his music then fine but i but 9 times out of 10 most of you r just hatin’ because u acn’t do what he does.
