Another blockbuster back online. I really enjoyed this movie too back in 2005 when it first came out on DVD. Very nice brought into screen. Jake Gyllenhaal brings us another good performance. Many of you already seen it and will might watch it again. The people who love war movies and have missed this, watch it! you will really like it. Enjoy!
Jarhead (the self-imposed moniker of the Marines) follows “Swoff” (Gyllenhaal), a third-generation enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a sniper’s rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always potentially just over the next horizon. Swoff and his fellow Marines sustain themselves with sardonic humanity and wicked comedy on blazing desert fields in a country they don’t understand against an enemy they can’t see for a cause they don’t fully fathom.
Foxx portrays Sergeant Sykes, a Marine lifer who heads up Swofford’s scout/sniper platoon, while Sarsgaard is Swoff’s friend and mentor, Troy, a die-hard member of STA-their elite Marine Unit.
An irreverent and true account of a war that was antiseptically packaged a decade ago, Jarhead is laced with dark wit, honest inquisition and episodes that are at once surreal and poignant, tragic and absurd.

This movie sucks. This is the most boring movie I have seen since The thin red line movie. There is virtually no action at all. Save your harddrive space dont bother with this crap movie. 2 thumbs down.

This movie follows the daily life of a couple of average marines which get their training and are send out to the Middle East. Nothing really interesting happens in this movie. Don’t expect any big battles or action in this movie.
It’s basically a boring movie on the boredom of war.
Did not feel this movie one bit… propaganda ftl. Haven’t seen a good war movie since Black Hawk Down.

That is a problem Firefox has on Vista. Google it and you should be able to find a solution.
If all you want to see is a “proper” war film with all the explosions,death and destruction – a la Saving Private Ryan, Apocalypse Now, etc – then this is not the film for you.
If you want to see a bit more reality in your war film, this film is great – tells you want serving in the modern military as a sniper is like (or so I’m told…I’ve never served)
Oh, and my screen keeps jumping every 20 secs or so as well – I have IE and windows XP, and as its not happening on any other website I visit, it has to be something to do with this site
