Jar City 2006 DVDRip XviD-WRD

Group WRD released some hours ago this icelandic movie with audio in original language (originally called “Mýrin”). English subtitules are included so no problem for international watchers.

An elderly man is found murdered in his basement flat. Inspector Erlendur and his crew don’t have much to go by in the investigation, but a photograph of a young girl’s grave gives them a lead. They discover that many years ago the victim was accused, though not convicted, of horrible crimes. Did the old man’s past come back to haunt him? As Erlendur reopens this very cold case, he follows a trail of unusual forensic evidence, uncovering secrets that are much larger than the murder of one old man – with clues knit into the genetic bloodline of an entire country.

Wow… could’ve been first to comment but didn’t want to begin the thread with fluff!

Did anyone see this on its release since the name is vaguely familiar but I’m not too excited by the description. I do like the IMDB score though, but we know how that works. Anyone who has seen it, can you give a couple of similar films for me to judge whether its worth my bandwidth?

This is best described as a criminal drama, not very fast paced but a great story and very well directed, definitely worth the bandwidth. I´m from Iceland so i´m maybe you shouldn’t listen :)

Thanks Johann… when I can find a torrent/’Tito’ link I’ll download on your recommendation. :)

Also thanks to Robert – ironic Abigail being in a film with Jodie Foster, since IMO she’s the best child actor since Jodie appeared on the scene. :) I’ll grab that one too, since the screenshots look nice and sharp (unlike the Drillbit Taylor VHS Screener :| )

I simply love the fact that RLSLOG paves the way for many of these unknown movies: not only because it might be the only way for these movies to get spread around, but also because it enlightens me personally with things i’d never see otherwise. And while i don’t read the metal or techno music posts, or the many tiny programs posts, i always check out the unknown movies posts. Thank You. :-)
