    This is NOT a DVDRIP – at least, not in the way most people would define it. It’s a German R2 rip that fortunately had an English audio option. Unfortunately, it had hardcoded German subtitles during the Russian dialogue and hardcoded German overlays elsewhere. Covering them up with English subtitles and overlays would just make it seem “messy.”

    The retail street date for the R1 is September 28th. I suspect that between then and now, there will be a true DVDRIP released by someone (meaning an R1 DVDRIP). I think I’ll just wait for it.

    Just because it isn’t English-centric doesn’t mean it’s not a “true” DVD rip. An R2 German DVD is a DVD. The copy is fantastic, and Vision, and a couple others, have hard-subbed the English bits for the idiots who can’t figure out what’s being said. The world doesn’t revolve around freakin’ R1 source.

    #34 Loader – Name one other film (other than a mislabled release) where the term DVDRIP was applied to a release that had hardcoded non-English subs and/or overlays? I didn’t nuke this release. Someone else did. And they nuked it because it was labeled incorrectly.

    FWIW, RLSLOG recognizes the difference between DVDRIP and R5. Anyone downloading an R5 knows they might get Russian language overlays. No problem with that … if you know what you’re getting before you download it. Read the NFO on this release. The poster didn’t say “German subtitles for non-English parts,” he said “no subtitles for non-English parts.”
