Hi there Iron Maiden fans. EMI Music decided to make a Best of from the years 1980 - 1989. So along comes QTXMp3 and RIPs this CD just for us :).
Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band from Leyton in the East End of London. The band were formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, formerly a member of Gypsy’s Kiss and Smiler. Iron Maiden are one of the most successful and influential bands in the heavy metal genre, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide without significant mainstream or radio support. The band won the Ivor Novello Awards for international achievement in 2002, and were also inducted into the Hollywood Rock Walk during their tour in the United States in 2005. Iron Maiden are influenced by Thin Lizzy, UFO, Wishbone Ash and Deep Purple amongst others.

I’ve listened to their music since Paul Di’Anno first sang ‘Iron Maiden’.. they haven’t released a good album since ‘Fear of the Dark’.. and now we get this final insult in their latest tour, all of those dates they have (look how many dates they have in the States, Canada and Oz and they’re only playing one UK date.. in England.

This is only best of from 80-88, “Bring your daughter….” was released in 1990.
I’m glad they’ve whacked in “Phantom of the Opera” but it’s a shame it’s not the original version. Truly is one of my favourite songs of all time.
Anyone who doesn’t like Maiden should be met with suspicion and a fair dollop of caution.

The first two albums were the only ones worthy of the name. Paul Di’Anno had the voice that properly complimented Harris’ immense talent, imo.
