Ip Man 2008 DVDRiP XViD-RUSTLE

A few weeks back group PCMG released a DVDrip of this movie but it was dubbed in Mandarin and now RUSTLE bring us another DVD rip and according to the NFO this one is in the original Cantonese, if you cant understand either of those and grabbed the one a few weeks back there is probably no need to re-download this. IP man (aka Yip Man) is a 2008 Hong Kong martial arts film based on “Ip Man” who is the martial arts master of the legendary Bruce Lee. The movie focuses on events surrounding Yip that took place in Foshan between the 1930s to 1940s during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The video sample looked quite jerky to me, im not sure if its just this laptop that im on but you may want to have a look at the video sample to see if its ok for you, enjoy.

Ip Man is adapted from the life story of Yip Man, the grandmaster of the Wing Chun style of kung fu and sifu of legendary kung fu superstar Bruce Lee. This film will be the first important record of the master’s life.

    I did download another version of IP Man from somewhere else too and the audio is in cantonese….

    Dvdrip + canto

    thought it already release but somehow ppl are ripping the same thing again and again…

    try search under mininova…should able to get the result :)

    I understand the difference… and just watched another action movie last week.. Legendary Assasin — was dubbed in Mandarin… and it sort of ruined it for me… cause all the time I just have this "communist" attachment when listening to mainland China's mandarin…

    I bought a DVD-9 of Ip Man which is the Hong Kong equivalent of an R5 release. When I analyzed the MPEG2 video I found that it was flagged as Bottom-Field First video but it is actually Top-Field First. So if you didn't tell avisynth or your encoder to assume TFF, and then proceeded to inverse-telecine the video, you would have ended up with an avi with pretty jerky motion.

    I grabbed the earlier version and liked everything about it but the subtitles. There are several Chinese titles in the movie explaining what is going on, but the subs only show up when someone is speaking. They also seem to have been done by someone who barely speaks english. Are the subs for this version better, or has anyone found any better ones?

    the RUSTLE version is still in Mandarin. There is a Canto version which is sync from a really good cinema recording. I would not have known had I not heard laughing during a fight scene. Another DVD was released last week with both sound track but I have not personally tried it.

    Video is poor in this release and the subs are brutally translated. :(

    Anyway for those who want a decent copy, either download the PCMG version and synch it, using these subtitles: http://subscene.com/english/Ip-Man-AKA-Grandmaster-Yip-Man/subtitle-195467.aspx (I've manually fixed the English subs including written parts, so that all the English text makes sense now).

    Alternatively, For anyone who is interested (those with consoles/divx players), I have uploaded a Hardcoded Subs version with the English corrected and all in synch. Although slightly lower quality (1090kbps), it's fine for watching on a 32" widescreen. ;)

    This film is well worth a watch, especially as it shows the real Wing Chun form in action. Thanks to Master Samuel Kwok for teaching me.

    @44 nothing wrong with the quality, its probably your machine.

    @45 Google for the subs and edit the lines in note pad if you think the subs are terrible.
