Into The Wild 2007 DVDRip XviD-FLAiTE

FLAiTE have produced the goods tonight, with them releasing Into The Wild, which has an excellent rating of 8.2/10 from 8,634 votes. I don’t think I need to say much more as the movie does all the speaking. Oh, the quality looks excellent, being a 2CD rip at a reasonably high XViD bitrate, and the release comes with English and Spanish subtitles.

Into The Wild is based on a true story and the bestselling book by Jon Krakauer. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless (Hirsch) abandons his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.

    I agree with others on more “2 Cd” releases with high qualilty picture and 5.1 sound.

    Should the scene standard be changed, though, and have these released as one divx file rather than 2? Isn’t it more convenient to burn the file to one DVD rather than 2 cds?

    I’ve yet to find a perfect AVI joiner–I don’t want the hassle. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining–thank you all who upload–but just want to see what other people think.

  30. hey there
    February 3rd, 2008 | 01:23

    There are still plenty of plans that get throttled after limits like 5GB, 15GB etc even in developed countries. People on those plans may preffer the 1CD releases for films that they are just going to watch and discard (lets face, who really watches most things more than once).

    on a 5gb plan you can get more than 6 700mb downloads but only 3 2 cd releases. That is the main difference. And yes, you can keep downloading when throttled but it takes ages to get each film (bright side being you can share more, because you are allready throttled). Belive it or not, there are still plenty of plans that still count uploads towards the monthly limit also.

    @ 134 or anyone

    download VirtualDub and try this…its the most simple way of make a 2 cd movie into 1 part

    1) load first file
    2) FILE->APPEND AVI FILE
    3) VIDEO->DIRECT STREAM COPY
    4) FILE->SAVE AVI

    The files have to match, if there are more than one - be careful, VDub will append numerically ordered files by itself(i.e. 1.avi 2.avi 3.avi will be appended).

  47. Tom
    February 3rd, 2008 | 03:30

    @131

    If you use converttodvd you dont need to join the clips.

    It converts the file to dvd with menu, in options you can then set it to play both files in a row. So when part 1 is finished it freezes the picture for 3 second or so and then starts playing part 2.

    Anyone else having issues with downloading this off usenet with GrabIt? I am getting a lot of “error in selecting group” and “error while downloadling article” errors. Ideas?

    What is the best program to simply join two divx files (not also convert to dvd)? I have had mixed success with a variety of programs. I’m looking for a solid program that can join files without sync issues quickly. Thanks.

    To those who complain of slow download speeds - Here’s what you can do -

    Download this patch from http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads

    Run the patch & set the number of half-open tcp/ip connections to 1000. Next, set the number of simultaneous outbound connection attempts to the maximum your torrent software will allow. (I set mine to 100, the max allowed by azureus). Allow for unlimited seeds/peers while downloading & set the number of peers to 50 while downloading. Turn off Windows firewall(be sure to install Mcafee or something!).

    I’ve just a 48kBps connection, yet with these tweaks, I’ve managed to get speeds as high as 672 kBps. Under ideal conditions, it takes 30 mins to download 700 mb.

    @153

    That’s a common problem with Grabit. Some report having success downloading the nzb file rather than the individual files and then opening the nzb (does that make sense?). Also, sometimes your server just doesn’t have all the files yet and you can try again later. You might also try fewer connections, but to tell you the truth, I’ve never found a good work-a-round. I know, it sucks.

    @154 Fat Dog:

    “I’ve just a 48kBps connection, yet with these tweaks, I’ve managed to get speeds as high as 672 kBps. Under ideal conditions, it takes 30 mins to download 700 mb.”

    There’s something wrong with your arithmetics. Let’s see:

    You have a 48kBit/s connection?
    That’s common speed for an analog modem connection (= the so called 56k modem, V.90). That ain’t DSL. [DSL would have at least 500kBit/s, nowadays in cities in central europe DSL is more commonly around 3000kBit/s to 6000kBit/s].

    But even though you are connected with 48kBit/s, you still manage to receive 672kBit/s? 672 is exactly 48*14=672. So you have 14 analog modem connections to your ISP provider? I don’t get it.

    You say you download 700 MByte in 30 minutes?
    700MByte=700*1024*8 KBit =716800*8=5.734.400KBit. 30 minutes is exactly 1800 seconds. So if you dl 5.734.400KBit in 1800 seconds you dl 5.734.400KBit/1800~=31.865 KBit/s. That would be a 3Mbit/sec DSL connection. But you have an 48kBit/s connection?

    I still don’t get it.

    these photos prove that you can download 700mb in 30min.

  67. Fat Dog
    February 3rd, 2008 | 17:58

    @168 shortstoryteller

    I’ve nothing to gain by lying. I really have only a 48kBps connection. It’s all we can afford. The point I wanted to make was that tweaking can help you get speeds far in excess of the supposed cap.

  68. shortstoryteller
    February 3rd, 2008 | 20:47

    @Fat Dog

    if you or your family would stop spending all of your money, or if you at least got a second job, then you would have more money to spend for internet connection.

    not every family has to have large screen tv, gold chains for neck and mercedes benz in driveway. some families like to have some moderation, then you can have many things.

  70. farmeunit
    February 3rd, 2008 | 22:49

    @Fat Dog

    The simple fact is that you CAN NOT gain over 10x what your connection is by “tweaking”. In the real world, your TRUE download speed is about 1/8 of your rated speed. With my 8MB connection, I download at a little over 900k/sec, just to put it in perspective.

  72. audio
    February 3rd, 2008 | 23:54

    @farmeunit,

    You connection is 8Mb (Mb = megabit). 8Mbit = 1MB (MB = megabyte).

    If you download a bit over 900k/sec (0.9MB/s), it means it’s very close to your theoretical max.

  73. Adam Riese
    February 4th, 2008 | 03:17

    8 bit = 1 byte

    That’s very basic infotec knowledge. For some reason the unit ‘bit’ is used in relation to data transfer (e.g. 56 kilobit V.90 modem, 2 Megabit DSL line) while the unit ‘byte’ is used when data storage is concerned(e.g. 1024 Megabyte RAM memory, 500 Gigabyte magnetic harddisk).

    @154 Fat Dog:
    I got some things wrong. First I assumed you were talking about 48 kilobit per second, but your screenshots show that probably 48 kilobyte per second (download speed) was meant.

    Then I concluded “31.865 KBit/s. That would be a 3Mbit/sec connection”.

    Though in fact 31.865 KBit/s are more than 31 Mbit/s.

    I assume you have at least an a few Mbits/second dsl connection.

  74. Adam Riese
    February 4th, 2008 | 03:25

    btw. It was not my intention to give rise to the impression I thought you were lying. Totally not. I was just to point out the inconsistency that struck me when I read you posting. I did already assume a mixup of terms on your part. Most of all, sometimes it is not clear what is meant with the ‘b’ in e.g. kb/s, be it in minuscule or capital letter. While ‘Bit’ is hardly ever used in relation to data storage, the use of ‘kb’ for kiloBYTES in relation to data transfer is encountered quite often.

  75. Fat Dog
    February 4th, 2008 | 05:31

    @Adam & shortstoryteller
