Standard hard drive is 60MB/s, in RAID you can double that. It’s absolutely no where near the speed that connection can do.

2hr movie = 4.3GB . Speed of that connection is just under 3 times faster, so a several seconds is way off the mark. It’s all immaterial as consumers won’t get this speed.

well of cource, these connections aren’t meant for an individual user, so dont get too exited, yet. why ? hard disk aint fast enough

100Gbit?? Damn thats fast. I am still using 2mb connection here and that is what my ISP is offering.

Well, this Internet2 thing is probably just for network calculating. I doubt we’ll see 100 GBit/s internet for everyone… But then again I expected to see Unreal 3 engine graphics in 20 years instead of half a year so.. I’m probably wrong…
