Interest in HD releases.
There are now plenty of HD movies scene releases. They are either HDDVDRips or BDRips, and usually in 720p and encoded using the X264 codec. These turn out to be around 4.5gb, or something around that, so they are not ridicules to download. All the ones i have seen are released by CDDHD.
I, for one, think that these would be a great addition to the site, and with the internet connections that most of you guys have, it wouldn’t be much of a problem to download these releases. From what i’ve seen, some people seem fairly interested in having these on the site. I’m trying to figure out if there is really enough demand for these releases. I would also need to get torrents organized for these releases, as there aren’t really any around right now. There would be no point in me just posting them, and you not being able to download them.
Some of the HDDVD/BLURAY rips right now are:
- Terminator.3.2003.AC3D.DL.720p.HDDVDRip.x264-CDDHD
- V.For.Vendetta.2005.AC3D.DL.720p.HDDVDRip.x264-CDDHD
- Ice.Age.The.Meltdown.2006.AC3D.DL.720p.BDRip.x264-CDDHD
- Lucky.Number.Slevin.2006.AC3D.DL.720p.HDDVDRip.x264-CDDHD
- Swordfish.2001.AC3D.DL.720p.HDDVDRip.x264-CDDHD
- The.Chronicles.of.Riddick.Directors.Cut.2004.AC3D.DL.720p.HDDVDRip.x264-CDDHD
- The.Phantom.of.the.Opera.2004.AC3D.DL.720p.HDDVDRip.x264-CDDHD
Then there are also plenty of HDTV (that were recorded from a HDTV channel) 1080i and 720p releases that date back to before HDDVD and BLU RAY. The quality of these are just about as good as a rip, and there are a very wide range of movies.
So, if you think that you would like releases like this on the site, please post a comment. Also, you might like to post your favorite one of these releases, and as well, if you would prefer 720p, or 1080i. We’ll see what we can do from there.
Here is a sample of Ice Age Meltdown, just to give you an idea of the quality:

w00t, I want them :>
I believe around a 5% of users currently has a pc connected to a HDTV… or have a monitor over 20 inches.. so I don’t think we’ll be downloading them.
Also, think that many of us have problems with the normal 1.4GB downloads.. because there are no many seeders sometimes..
well my isp gives me a limited download amount per month so yeah I’m screwed!
I would really enjoy such releases to be made on rslog. I prefer 720p releases but I hope there will be 1080p ones in the future. My favorite release is V For Vendetta.
I.ve downloaded Planet Earth in a 720p rip, and the quality is absolutely stunning, and the size aren’t bigger than DVDRs, which have a huge amount of downloaders, so the bandwith is available.
I download the odd HD movie I haven’t seen it for a while and I thnk it’s worth it. Recently I downloaded an HDTV rip of T3 that I quite enjoyed, so would certainly love to see more HD content on releaselog! Good call!
My favourite one on that list would probably be Swordfish, as I haven’t seen that since it came out and if I remmeber correctly it was quite a respectable title ….
It doesnt matter if you have a PC connected to a HDTV or 20″ monitor, if you dont have a high-def movie. Try watching Riddick at 1080p to see for yourself.
I am sure plenty of us would be *very* interested, so please make them available on rlslog.
Yeah I’d like that. I prefer 720p cause my PC can’t handle 1080i.
Fark no.
you dont need 70″ plasma HDTV screen to see that even the DVD quality is crap (not even talking about thoses 2CDs XVID)
i can see it clearly on my “small” 19″
so yes i’m very interested in those X264 releases !
I would be interested
Me also would be very interested in some HDrip releases, because the quality compared to normal DVDrips is just stunning. =D
HD movies would be an awesome addition to the site. I’m currently downloading Terminator 2 720p, it’s 8GB but that movie is so awesome it’s worth the wait
I’d rather have more full DVDrips, the ones that come in .iso format.
I usually burn my movies to DVD anyway so these are actually faster for me to burn, once downloaded.
HD kicks ass! Definitely a must!
720p x264 DVD5 is what I prefer but I agree that watching Riddick @1080p is definitely an experience.
I’m about to buy a 1366×768 50″ plasma (once I sell some stock options) and I think it’s going to look great…
So hell yeah, bring on the HD!
I would like to get into these, normal DVDs and DVD Rips look a bit pish on my 32″ LCD and projector screen compared to 720p
All for it!!!!
Yeah, get it up ‘n running, ffs!
I would love seeing 720p and 1080p releases posted here as I have both a 24″ lcd monitor capable of handling 1080p (native 1920×1200) and a 720p HD projector projecting to a 80″ screen, both is hooked up to my computer and my 7.1 surround system.
to be honest, Ive stopped downloading dvd-rips and 350mb hdtv-rips as they deliver too low picture quality and the sound is only stereo.
I downloaded Star Wars Ep.1 in 1080p format
Video; 1920×1080/25 h264 ~17.80Mbit/s
Audio; AC3 5.1 ~384Kbit/s
and seriously, it was worth every single gigabyte, all 16.6gb of them. both the picture and the sound where stunning!
Very interested in HD content. 720p is fine by me, but I’ll take 1080i/p if available. I get the better movies in 720p if I have a chance and the best movies (that I like) in 1080p alongside the usual DVDRips that come sooner.
I have a 24″ Sony Trinitron capable of 2048×1536 which I use at 1920×1200. Basically it beats every FullHD LCD out there. That’s the reason I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on versions of some movies in the highest quality available.
Bring them on!
as long as it is scenerealeses i think its a great idea!!
I would be very interested in those releases, since i just got a 37” inch lcd which suppors 1080p!Ever since, i’ve been trying to track down hd torrents or directdownloads with hd content.I’m very happy to see this post.OF COURSE i’m interested in supreme quality (1080p) but 720p isn’t bad at all.Thanx for everything and dont worry, we’ll help seeding those files!Right guys?Dvdrips (even 1,4 gb) are “gia ton poutso kavala”(bad quality!) as we Greeks say….This is 2007,dvds are so outdated….(!)
WHAT IF I WANTed to watch these on my tv in the other room. it is a 1080i dlp. it is to big burn to a dvdr and i dont want to unplug my whole comp and bring it to the other room every time i watch a movie? is there anyway to get it onto a dvdr or another way to watch it on my tv?
My Panny AE900 loves HD
And so do I. 720p is enough, but I download whatever else is available… So hit it!
Where to get those realeses now?
Of course we want it:) This is my first comment on this site and i’m witing it only because it would be great to see some HD stuff here.
jarhead as long as your dvd player supports the x264 codec u are able to play it..
what im saying is that it is to BIG to fit on a dvdr…
any hdrips that are under 4.7gb?
I would really like to se The.Chronicles.of.Riddick.Directors.Cut.2004.AC3D.DL.720p.HDDVDRip.x264-CDDHD here.
Generally i think 1080i/p is overkill for now. Movies in 720p would be very nice!
Khlown
drill a hole in the wall and stretch a audio/video cable from youre pc to youre TV ^^
yea this is a good idea
anybody have a link to a torrent that dloads pretty fast, of any hd movie so i can see the quality and how amazing it is?
Woo! Bring on the HD! In preparation for our new 42″ Panasonic Plasma before Christmas I downloaded quite alot of HD footage including ‘The Matrix’ in 1080i and ‘The Transporter’ in 720p. They both look amazing hooked up over DVI->HDMI, aswell as the LOST, Prison Break and 24 episodes I got in 720p.
But my vote is definitely for 720p. I don’t even see the point in releasing 1080p releases. Comparing the file size and necessary hardware against the image quality between it and 720p makes it seem superfluous. There really is not that much difference between the two. This may be due to the fact that for most of us 720p is a million miles from what we’re used to at the minute, and as we get used to the higher quality in daily life our eyes might be more capable of noticing the subtle differences between the two, but for the next number of years I see no need for 1080p.
I want Kingdom of Heaven in HDTV. I’ve seen Troy in 720 it was 8 gig and took a while to download.
what about with a VGA Cable. can u still get an hd picture if i hook it up to my hdtv?
jarhead if u read the article u will find the answer u r looking for
Of course i want them !!!
I prefer the HD 720p encoded in x264 because it’s only 4-5 Go ….. like a dvd … but in HD !
So go for it !
I definitely would like to see some more HD contents. I have got V for Vendetta and The Mummy in HDDVD rips in x264 format with 720p and i think they are awesome
Superb quality and they can fit on 1 DVD. A must have for anyone who appreciates HD!!!So i will get them any time.
Just keep coming with them. In North Europe there is not many HD DVD’s on the market, not to mention the players or the tv contents, so its nice to get them. The US market has got the HD DVD’s and Blu Ray’s first. The same goes for the HD TV contents. All the series(Prison Break, Lost, 2.5men etc…) are delivered in HD and HDTV ripped. North Europe dont have HD tv contents or HD movies. So if it wasnt for the Internet we would properbly not see any HD contents before many years, so a BIG THANKS to all releaser’s and releasing the HD movies!!Preferably x264 encoded and with 720p. That way they can fit on 1 DVD…lol
HD is good idea! I watch all my DLs streamed from a Media Center to Xbox360 connected to a 60″ 1080p TV.
Yeah you should be able to over VGA, but if you have a digital connection use it! 720p anyway should be fine… 1080p unlikely. Kinda like the xbox HD-DVD drive ‘controversy’ actually. People say why buy one when using component, as you can get max 1080i/720p. Analogue simply doesn’t have the bandwidth for 1080p.
I like HD movies… 1080i, 1080p.
Tks…
I´d really like to see all kinds of HD material, preferably 720p but all is welcome.
I really would like to see HD releases. I have a PC hooked up to a 42″ plasma TV and most DVDRIPs look as good as the DVD. I would love to see HDDVD rips, HD trailers from the net are fantastic. Running a plasma looks much better than viewing video through a monitor.
Like with 700mb and 1400mb dvdrips, there are certain situations where one file size is preferable to the other one. I’d love to see both 720p and 1080i rips mentioned, if possible.
720p (since my laptop is 1280×800) and phantom of the opera since i haven’t seen it and it was nominated for best cinematography oscar
i would like to have HD releases here.
and i prefer 720p (DVD5 size).
but i’d like to read about every release and news
HD-releases would be fantastic.I’d prefer 720p-releases in DVD5-size.
I say go for it. I’m currently downloading the hdtv releases of “the nine” and they sure look good. Also, I’ve seen several episodes of Heroes in hdtv encoded with x264 and they do look amazing!
i don`t know anything about HD rips can you watch them on a crt monitor or would that be a waste of time, also whats 720p, 1080p mean
many thxs
HD rips would be wicked…
If you’re lucky to own am HDTV set this rips are definitely a compliment to the setup. Of course nothing beats the real deal but for what you get the end result is pretty impressive.
For those wondering….
720p = Video at 1280×720 encoded with high bitrates (~4k+)
1080i/p = Video at 1980×1080 encoded with high bitrates
most of the scene rips will probably be encoded with the MKV codec, but some are made in avi/xvid, TS’s, wmv (plays in x360 directly) and most come with embedded extra audio tracks and/or subtitles….
I’m currently hooked up with a P4 2.4 – 1gb ram- 256 video card outputting to a 42″ LCD panel via componant…these types of rips are absolutely stunning..
I say bring em on!
i just saw a tv show in hd and it looked amazing. the black donnelys. so this is a great idea. 720p is probally better…
cant wait for first hd rips..
HD Content YES
HD ‘RIPS’ NO.
The whole point of HD is the higher bitrates and better quality, so let’s get rid of the gay rips. 1080p rips, 20-30Gig HD-DVD or BluRay rips. None of these lamer smaller rips.
And all you pansey assed fruitcakes with your 2400 baud modems crying for ASCII movie releases…. GO BIG OR GO HOME. Let’s stop coddling the past and usher in the future in all it’s high definition glory!
hi, i think releaselog should have links to all releases 720p,1080i & 1080p, it doesnt cost anything.
what software can u use to burn these releases?
can u just use convertxtodvd like i do for regular dvds or do i need a special software?
sorry if this has been asked like 10,000 times…
Definitely post news about HD DVD rips, preferably 720p! I went from watching movies on a 17″ CRT to a 22″ LCD, and I used to think that xvids looked perfect, but ever since I got a bigger and better monitor I notice a bunch of jagged lines and things just don’t look as sharp. The other day I downloaded the Fifth Element in HD DVD 720P and the quality was amazing, so much better than DVD.. it was perfect 5000
@giggler:
mkv (matroska) is not a codec. it’s a container. and a damn good one which would probably be used often, along with mp4. the video codec is MPEG-4 AVC, by way of the x264 libraries.
and please bring them on, RLSLOG.
Also my first post here just to say YES PLEASE for the many of us that can’t afford one or both formats, it’d be great to get the others – and my PJ is only 720p so I can’t make use of the rest that I’m missing, anyway
I would be interested. Support
You forgot; X-Men 3 The Last Stand 2006 ML 720p HDTV x264-CDDHD
http://www.mininova.org/tor/584025
That’s a HDTV, not a BDRip/HDDVDRip.
Can I burn this to DVDs and watch them in my regular dvd divx player?
No, only in a x264 capable player.
Hell yes! HD! I was watching heroes 720p and dont want to go back to lower quality anymore
I got unlimited bandwidth so bring it on!
Definitely put the HD releases up here on Releaselog. Like someone said before, people don’t have to download them if they don’t want to, but it’s nice to know they can find out about them if they do.
I’m one of the unlucky sods who doesn’t have a very fast net connection at the mo, but I’d still like to see some news of HD releases, if only to keep up with what’s going on.
Thumbs up for HD stuff! All of it too, not just rips, but full 25Gb images and everything else in between.
bring them on dude!!!!!!!!!!!!
90%+ of all new HD-DVD and Bluray movies you can buy in the shops are in one format 1080p. 720p is rarely used. The problem is these assholes on the net then convert the retail 1080p to 720p, losing nearly half the resolution. So it is FAR worse than a native 720p release. ie, V for Vendetta has not been released in 720p format, the retail disc is in 1080p format and the version released by the scene on the net was reencoded to a lower 720p resolution, which is worse than native 720p picture.
I like HDRIPs!
Thanks Yazoo
It will be cool. 720p release is nice, it takes less disk space, but quality is very good and no deinterlacing is needed.
A question: how powerful a PC do I need to play this HD x264 stuff?
Last time I tried a short HD clip it was like a slowmo slideshow presentation!
to Jodrnan,
the scene is all about rips man…..do u have any idea how big the actualy HDDVD or Bluray would be? 18 – 25 gigs….
on the private site i frequent there are tons of these full backups…and even more 720p releases
but for the scene most are ripped to 720p..4-8gig
So your ignorant comments make no sense….go buy your media then and stfu
the same principle has been applied to regular dvdrips since the beginning of the scene…
long live the scene…
720p please
I’m in! Could anyone give a hint as to where to find the OPs list. Thanks!
I would love to see Bray or HDDVD releases in 720p ass well as 1080i (I wished we could get 1080p).
They are as amazing for archiving as viewing. It’s a pleasure to watch a high res video on my 30″ dell.
About storage, I just got a 500gb Hdd for $140. Bandwidth is also here, I know many times that I downloaded full seasons of tv shows which run bigger than these releases.
As you make them available, more and more people will be downloading them and enjoying the stunning visuals (I sound like a sales person for HD, hehe)
I dont know why people are complaining about HD rips. These are the wave of the future, so if your PC is not powerful enough yet, or your TV is not an HDTV yet, you will be upgrading soon anyway. And then you will want all of your content to be HD, so we need to get started with HD as soon as possible. Let the upgrading begin!
Definitely bring HD content! i prefer 720p,but as a previous user said, why not posting all the releases,it’s no cost.
hehe ever since 720p movies were released I was using my PC as a movie player for my HDTV
Where are the x264 DVD players? :O
I would love to see HD releases here too. I’m already part of a private HD site, but they have strict ratio rules and I’d love to see another place offer HD movies.
Yes…. Please post releases of 720P
What happened with this proposal? And what about to add these releases to newtorrents.info too …
I think HDRips will be sufficient, HDTVrips is a not must if we speaking of movies (not TV episode rips).
Not only CCDHD (the worst one group
) made site releases, but:
REVEiLLE, DIR, iLL, ESiR, PROGRESS, UHD (etc…), and of course regarding to HDTVRips (series): CTU, SiTV (etc…)
And I think the first standard has born a week ago if we speak of HDRips !!!
Nowadays I only come here for the HD releases, so thanks so much for adding them on regular basis recently!
Also would be great if Rapidshare links would get posted as well along with torrents, if possible.
Cheers
Bring them on! Why should we say no to the future and new technologies?!
I usually download the highest quality releases available, most of the time it’s 720p, but 1080p looks even better, problem is there aren’t too many releases on this format…
Currently using a Media Center PC connected to a Sanyo Z2000 projector and a 96″ screen. It looks AMAZING, there is no way back. I don’t even feel like watching a movie if it’s only a DVDRip anymore. Will probably stop downloading them…
And somebody please tell me where is it that people have problems downloading 1.4gb?! I live in a third world country [Brazil] where internet connections are a nightmare, and 10gb is just fine…
Cheers
Of course, these films are wonderful, and for who keeps asking for 768p, the size of 1080p works for you! So lets ask for the best video!!!
Thanks
