Infected Mushroom-Vicious Delicious (2007)
Another pretty amazing music for this week! Vicious Delicious from Izraelian band Infected Mushroom features a really original music composed by these popular guys. You simply need to hear it first to understand, and I’m sure many of you will love it. The official release date is scheduled to March 26 so you get it with almost two weeks in advance.
Two years since the release of the monstrous ‘IM The Supervisor” and a decade since they first infected the world, Infected Mushroom make a glorious return celebrating their highly anticipated 6th studio album – Vicious Delicious. Infected Mushroom—Erez Aizen and Amit Duvdevani (aka Duvdev)—have been the leading force within the global Psy-Trance scene for nearly a decade. Incorporating pumping bad-ass grooves, infectious melodies, live instruments and vocals into their songs, they’ve performed live in front of well over a million fans around the globe.

This must be the best quote ever, and the best thing to say how much the new material of IM sucks… The old was GREEEEEEAT (the gathering anyone?), but this is just plain awful.

psypop is the right word to describe this album, but that doesnt mean that i dont like it, i think its really good from the forst track to the last, one of the few albums out where every track is at last a little bit enjoyin
the first thing i thought was WOW this is such an EMO album, it has really been taken it to the next level this time. although it has diverged into something much more pop-like, the psytrance qualities are still evident and that is what makes IM’s music unique, desirable, and very orginal . the best part of vicious delicious are the danceable tracks but i also like hearing the more downbeat stuff too. it all makes for a totally EXTREME, very impressive, and very addictive album. its got some fresh new beats that everyone can enjoy!

IM is pretty unique – imo all other DJs in this sector are inferior to them. You might eventually try MFG-Message from God. Or for something more experimental, try Shpongle. Pendulum would be Drum and Bass, but equally freaky and multi-faceted like IM.

I don’t like the album, it only have 2 or 3 good tracks… I’m concerned about the future of IM… Someday, i will hear IM featuring Sean paul or Snoop dog and that’s not cool
in my opinion, the only track that isn’t worthy of being on the album is ‘forgive me.’ and that is the shortest track on the disc. this album reeks of psychedelia, and really exhibits some interesting psytrance concepts. unbelievable album, overall one of their best albums. only hope it won’t take 3 years before the net album…

You guys suck, this album is awesome. They’ve grown quite a bit and they’re still kicking ass at high speed. The vocals threw me off at first, but if you actually give them a chance and not shut your ears off like a prick it might grow on you.
Much of the “spinal tap” guitar complained about earlier was actually thoroughly enjoyable, fix your ears.

Wow… this cd is horrible. I liked Converting Vegetarians disc 2 and some other infected cds but jesus how crappy can this get? Since when is infected rap?
First, the music has its good and bad. Bad because I miss the old infected mushroom psychedelic trance music. I didn’t expect to hear rock and metal! But still, even the hip-hop and rock is somehow nice.
Second, I somehow didn’t like the violent message behind the album. Now I hope all the war singing is sarcasm but if not then I think it’s a real shame to put war messages in international music.

Well it was pretty obvious this cd would be even more lyrical and somewhat lacking in the mind numbing classical ways i could hope for, just going off their last 2 albums and of course the move to an LA studio :\ So i wasn’t all that surprised by the direction this cd took, but i must say at first i was totally dissapointed.
Then i started listening to it more thoroughly and without any prejudice from a slight disappointment in the direction IM is taking, and it just kept growing on me more and more. At first i just liked a few songs but now i listen to it all the way thru and love it all. It truly is quite groundbreaking and very unique in a way that i think people who dont like traditional psy trance could pick this up and rly like it, and perhaps start to explore the genre more fully. At least thats what id like to hope
All in all tho, a lil bit Emo at times but a wide, interesting variety, and just enough tidbits of that classic sound to keep me hooked on IM 4 Life!
