Last night there were 2 classic adventure DOS based games re-released by group CPY and they happen to be two of my favourites (Along with the Monkey Island, Leisure Suit Larry and Police Quest series).  The Indiana Jones games are true classics, worthy of every adventure gamers collection and if you are an adventure game fan and somehow have not played them i highly recommend that you do. The epic plot is involving and suspenseful, putting you in the shoes of the world’s most famous archaeologist as he single-handedly wards off the forces of evil. Its a pity theres no “Staff Picks” category for PC games or these would definitely be put in there.

Notes From NFO: We decided to release this game because its the first time that official software houses make an official executable for newest system and even because….its Indy :D

On some computers this game wont start because of an odd check on your CPU speed. We made a bugfixed crack just for you. You can find it into CrackBugifx inside the disc image.

Indiana.Jones.And.The.Last.Crusade.READNFO-CPY

It is 1938 and adventurer Indiana Jones is joined by his father on this quest, preventing Adolf Hitler from capturing the Holy Grail. He will have to deal with Nazi guards, the Luftwaffe and enemy spies as he tries to stop the tyrannical Nazi leader.

The Graphic Adventure uses the same SCUMM gameplay system as the previous Maniac Mansion. Most of the screen is used for a visual rendition of the current scene. At the bottom of the screen are words, which can be clicked on using the mouse to activate their functions. For example, objects can be picked up, used, pushed or pulled, and turned on and off. Most locations are from the movie, but some further scenes are added.

In keeping with Indiana’s action-man persona, the game also features pure action scenes. Unlike most Lucasfilm adventures, you can die.

Indiana Jones is back! The great archaeologist and adventurer has to solve a grand mystery once again, aided by his trusty whip, his sharp wit, and his courage. A man who calls himself Mr. Smith is interested in a certain ancient statue. When the unsuspecting Indy hands it over to the client, he finds out that Mr. Smith is in fact a colonel in the Nazi army! Why was he so interested in that statue? A girl who had once worked together with Indy, the pretty red-haired (and a bit troublesome) Sophia, tells him the whole thing must have a connection with the legendary lost continent Atlantis. Gathering clues from all over the world, Indy and Sophia embark on their greatest journey!

Fate of Atlantis is not a movie spin-off, but an independent adventure with a brand new story. The gameplay utilizes LucasArts’ famous SCUMM system, with action verbs the player chooses from a menu; the objects that can be interacted with are highlighted. The game contains many puzzles of various kinds (mostly inventory-based) and dialogues with multiple choices. There are also a couple of hand-to-hand fights against the Nazis. The middle part of the game can be played in three “modes”: co-operation (Indy and Sophia), adventure (Indy alone), and action (Indy alone, with less puzzles and more action). In each mode there are different locations to visit, different puzzles to solve, and different characters to meet.

    I remember this on the amiga, you had to swap disks every 2 minutes and there was 10 disks to boot!

    Jesus. I don't understand this re-release at all, at least not from the pirate community's point of view. just get the original which is widely available on bittorrent and use scummvm, it's a million times better. You can use HQ4X interpolation and pretty decent Roland MT-32 emulation for a much better experience than Lucasarts' crappy re-release.

    Fate of Atlantis is the best adventure game I've ever played, no "next-gen" project managed to beat it's gameplay, story and atmosphere..

    I recommend it to all!

    This game rocks. For some FREE adventure games (like Sierra/Lucasarts) check out the Adventure Game Simulator website. The program lets you make your own adventure games like the ones from the 80s. There are a ton available for free including remakes of Kings Quest 1 and 2….

    I heard that a remake on LeChucks revenge is on the cards if the first is a success.

    Would be nice if they remade the Indy series too in the same way.

    The Monkey Island remake is a refresh of the first Monkey Island game (Secret of Monkey Island, IIRC), not to be confused with the one posted here earlier, which is the new episodic Monkey Island game.

    Wow , what a complete waste of bandwith , this game , both versions are available for a free download of their respective sites , why the hell upload it and most of all , why do the admins advertise it, Cant get the Admons to make a correct statement about the quality of a movie release but they sure as s#$t can leave a worthless comment on how they loved this crap 20 years ago

    Last Crusade is a good game, and Atlantis is THE best example of the 3rd age of Graphical Adventures.
    But scene rules still apply, and both games are older than what required to avoid nuking…

    If I remember rightly, on the Amiga at least, in Last Crusade when you are in the LIbrary digging around the floor, you need to reference the special wee diary that came in the box when you bought it. It helped you find the right tile to dig by looking at the stain glassed windows?

    Will we still get stuck there in this release I wonder?

    With regards to Grail Diary, you can actually use the one in the game. Just read it when you are in the library.
