In Flames – The Mirrors Truth [EP][2008]
Sweet! Its time for another In Flames single! The Mirrors Truth single has been circulating the internet for a couple of days now but SMO are the first scene group to release it. Naturally this is the new In Flames sound, so don’t expect something straight out of “Colony” or “The Jester Race” because I doubt they’ll ever go back to that, and why should they? Try to enjoy this for what it is, even if you’re like me and old school Göteborg melodic death metal makes you wanna bang your head off your neck (At The Gates at Wacken 2008, see you there). I would like to personally thank SMO for including high rez front and back covers, the effort is much appreciated. Enjoy!
The Mirror’s Truth is the third single released by In Flames, taken from their ninth album A Sense of Purpose. The disc contains the single and three songs, out of which two are previously unreleased, that are not set to appear on A Sense of Purpose. The CD is an exclusive release to Europe. The cover artwork for this single was done by Alex Pardee who also created all cover art for The Used and Aiden’s Conviction.

ReeGeed: Good to hear that you’re a At The Gates fan! I grew up with that music and I haven’t found anything better today even after all those years. I’m ecstatic about the reunion tour. I hope they play some of their older stuff, like Through the Gardens of Grief and The Break of Autumn, and not just Slaughter of the Soul stuff.
Eh… but back on topic — it’s nice that some of the good old Göteborg/Gothenburg bands are still around and kicking. I guess Dark Tranquillity is the only one that’s still sticking to their roots though…
Im curious and not here to trash on the music thats posted on this wonderous site, but why is it the only music posted here is heavy metal hair bands and what-not.

as an in flames fan, i think that the title track for this EP is definitely a great track. In Flames may not be the same band they were when they first began releasing albums, but judging from their interviews they are happy with the direction they are going and i personally have enjoyed their evolution. Come Clarity wasn’t exactly the best album they’ve had, but this “The Mirrors Truth” track is pretty damn badass so hopefully that’s a good omen for the next album
Other bands i really enjoy are Disarmonia Mundi (AMAZING), Children of Bodom, Dark Tranquility, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold….
I’d rather be raped than listen to this.

Yeah, on topic, I would also like to see some (to avoid saying better) more underground stuff being posted.
I just think if you are going to try and introduce people to new music, why introduce something they will see on any 14 year old moshers t-shirt in any town in the world.
FNT (I think) Released “the secret” (horrible name) – “Disintoxication” not too long ago, that is some amazing technical hardcore, maybe you metal fans would like it, I dunno.
Im just sick of seeing things I thought were kinda pathetic when I was 14.
Oh, and in any retaliation to people saying “who says they are trying to introduce us to new music, it was a scene rls and they informed us of it lololol”
The amount of music that gets released every day, they could never inform us on every release on every genre, so what they are doing needs justifying really, otherwise its just pointless.

New In Flames is still incredible, not as much guitar work as old (Jesters Race, Whoracle) but still awesome. Seen them live 6 times, only people I’ve seen live more is GWAR whom I’ve seen 15 times
@11… Metal is all you see on this site? There is alot but open your eyes man and actually check “next page” there’s plenty of other stuff. Even obscure white rappers from Detroit that people who live there never even heard of.
