PLOT: A Christmas story. Should one who killed a child be allowed to live? Harry Waters, a London thug, sends Irish hitmen Ken and Ray to Bruges to lie low after a job goes awry in a London church. Ken’s the old hand, fascinated by the Medieval, with a fatherly attitude toward Ray, who’s young and bored but chastened after the London job. Ray’s disposition changes when he meets Chloë, a hip young woman who sells drugs on the local set of a movie featuring Jimmy, an American dwarf. Harry calls with irrevocable instructions. Ken balks, setting up a showdown in the town square. A pregnant innkeeper, dumdum bullets, and a code of conduct play into the resolution.

Just listening to the soundtrack and watching the scenery would make a whole lot of difference between the two and I am not even talking about acting or story line!
I am frankly kind of, well a lot, disappointed in people falling for hollywood supposedly blockbusters based on comic strips! and calling those movies, great movies!!!
I still remember when Batman came out, 1992, and it was claimed to be a gooreat movie as well and people not mesmerized by hollywood were just like WAUT!
I am not for violence but this movie brings so much more than your usual spy, killer for rent, kind of stories that you forget about it and get absorbed by the human interaction, dialogues, and the city itself!
I don’t remember having seen any exceptional movie this passing year but this one, certainly is on the top of whatever I have seen in 08!
It was an amazing movie. It’s obvious why Will didn’t like it: there simply aren’t enough hot naked men in it for him.

Fantastic film – highly recommended
Excellent film. In fact it is the most memorable film I saw this year. Recommended to anyone who wants a change from the blockbuster and no substance popcorn movies and the grisly slasher teen flicks.
Very difficult to put in a category – is it a (very)dark comedy or a drama with comedic elements? Whatever it is, it is aimed at an adult audience. If you are interested in movies like Saw and it’s numerous copy cats and sequels,or superheroes, give this a pass. If you want to be captivated by characters you actually grow to give a damn about, then by all means do not miss this film!
If it doesn’t win the Oscar for at least best foreign film, there is no justice and no taste for quality in the Motion Picture Academy.

@27: I’m asssuming this has a bit better quality than the HDTV rip, so I’ll download this version too.
At the same time, this is a movie so great that I really feel like I should reward those who made it. OK, once I get a job I’ll buy it on Blueray.

Yep, along with DK it is the best movie of the year. Simply amazing, I am almost scared to watch it again – the experience is too good to ruin it with repeated watching : ) But I guess I will give in…..and watch it in all of its HD glory (I already have ctrlHD version).
