app boxZwt has released this nice notepad replacement. There is a lot of applications for editing text and e. g. and I have to say I use Kingsoft Office Professional or Microsoft Office or Open Office, but when you need to do something fast(little text file , little note , save a password or something else) this application will be very handy. They have a Linux version of this application available. Linux version is called: UEX (UltraEdit for Linux) You can read more on this products homepage.

    Thanks, great app! I use it regularly along with my other favourite editor, Notepad++. The only disadvantage of Notepad++ is being built upon SciTE, it can't handle newlines for regular expressions, whereas UE can.

    However, for minor text file editing, I prefer Notepad++ which is light and fast. You should give it a try.

    Have to say one of my best apps i used it for building my blog in PHP, SQL, XHTML CSS at UNI this can do it all its good app its a must have in your collection.

    Did you put any thought into this text while writing it because it doesn't look like you did. First of all you are comparing rich text with a text editor. Second of all this application is by no means meant for small text edits like saving a 8 char long password.
