Intended to be posted a couple of hours ago, the pretty recently pre’d new album by one of the all time legends of hip hop, Ice Cube.  Thanks to WHOA, we have this almost a week before it hits the stores.  I haven’t listened to this yet, so I don’t know how well it stacks up with his classic discography.  But for hip hop fans, this is one of the biggest releases of the year.

O’Shea Jackson (born June 15, 1969), better known by his stage name Ice Cube, is an American rapper, MC, songwriter, actor, screenwriter, and film director.

Regarded as one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time, he began his career as a founding member of the rap group N.W.A, and later launched a successful solo career in music and cinema. In 1992, he married Kimberly Woodruff, with whom he has four children. In 1992, he converted to Islam. From the mid-1990s onwards, Cube focused on acting, and his musical output has slowed down considerably. He remains one of the most visible West Coast rappers, having helped originate gangsta rap. He is particularly well-known for his incendiary raps on political topics, social relations and ethnic discrimination, particularly the mistreatment of African Americans.

    I think it might be useful to either note, or have a list somewhere, that tells us which online storage sites throttle bandwidth to non-paying users. I notice Sendspace and Rapidshare now limit to approx 50kbps. Time to give respect to those that are still unthrottled. LetitBit.net has been blinding for me recently, and I’m hearing lots of excitement re Archive.

    As for this album… I’ll be giving it a listen. Still prefer my man, Ice T, but Cube gets respect too. :)

    I have to say Chinballs is a great poster here on Rlslog, and i hope he reads this. At first, seemed that all Chinballs did was post Rap, and R&B, he still does. But he covers all music. I justed wanted to say “keep up the good work”. I thought that the changes on rslog was going to affect the site, i see that nothing has changed, and quite frankly i honestly say that it is better. Keep up the Great work Martin and Chinballs, and the rest of the Rslog staff. I appreciate what you do!
