The picture quality will look crap though cos the source resolution is much smaller than the display resolution. One solution could be to grab an upscaling/upconverting DVD player, it stretches the movie to the screen size and makes it look better at the same time. I play my movies on the Xbox at 720p and it looks a LOT better than with a regular player.
