I Robot 2004 720p Bluray x264-SEPTiC

Seeing as BD+ has been cracked you can see that the scene has been flooded with Bluray rips from all kinds of movies, and here is another one of them. I Robot is a pretty well known movie starring Will Smith and Bridget Moynahan with a pretty good plot line. There are a lot of special effects and CGI in this movie so watching it in HD is a must for me.

It’s 2035 A.D., where robots are everyday objects and are programmed to live alongside humans. Detective Del Spooner is called out to investigate the apparent suicide of the scientist behind these robots, Dr. Alfred Lanning. Spooner suspects that the death might not be a suicide, but the result of one of the robots. All robots are programmed by three laws, but Spooner starts to wonder if a robot can in fact feel emotions, and possibly murder. But if Spooner’s suspicions are true, he is going to have a hard time convincing everyone.

    I’m wondering why most of the high def rips are only in 720p? Is that so they can be played on both 720p and 1080p? I’m guessing 1080p can’t be used with a 720p tv? So put out the lower quality rips because not everybody has a 1080p tv but everybody can use the 720p rips?

    Think i’m gonna wait with this for a day or so till seeders starts picking up, almost 1 hour and speed is still around 3 KB/s, it’s better than 0 like its been most of the time but 4.37GB @ 3 KB/s is gonna take a while ;D

    It’s next to impossible to spot the difference between 720p and 1080p; I have a 24″ 1080p computer monitor and I can’t spot it if I’m sitting right in front of the screen.
    And it makes the filesize much smaller so it can fit on 1 DVDR, plus you can then play the file on older CPUs, which is pretty hard to do with 1080p video.

    This so called “720p” version is effectively being released with 554p, wich is in fact about the same resolution of good old NTSC…

    You’re joking right? Maybe you can tell the differnece on a 24″ moniter but there is one hell of a difference on my 60″ 1080P LCD TV. Not complaining though. BTW 1080P can be played on a 720P TV. The reason that the scene releases so many 720P encodes is because they are smaller and require less cpu power.

    If only guys knew anything about encoding, aspect ratios, and forced aspect rations you wouldnt ask/make these comments…

    NTSC = 720×480 (with a forced ar of 1.5:1)
    720p = 1280×720 (with a forced ar of 1.78:1)
    this rip = 1280×554 (with a true ar of 2.35:1)

    so this is nothing like NTSC

    I think it’s more about the horizontal resolution rather than the vertical, eventhough the name suggests otherwise.

    Bluray – force people to buy players, HDTV…along with 2009 all digital next year..have you heard the term “coercion”..all I care about is will the 200 AVI to DVDs I have burned will work on my new HDTV..I don’t want to have to DL 200 10G files to replace them..does anyone have the answer t0 that one? Are these TVs backward compatible..see most people in Bush’s Recession don’t have the bucks here to know yet, lol

    Zardoz2003 your AVI DVD’s will work fine on an HDTV. The picture quality will look crap though cos the source resolution is much smaller than the display resolution. One solution could be to grab an upscaling/upconverting DVD player, it stretches the movie to the screen size and makes it look better at the same time.
