I actually think people go in there and give his movies low rating on purpose, I looked at the votes and out of the 3,700 votes 2,300 gave it a 1, I find it hard to believe the majority of the people who paid and sat and watched this movie thought it was a 1. I’m not saying it was a 10 but a 1 its kinda obvious haters/racists were given it a low rating just to make it look bad. The next highest rating was a 10 with 575 votes. The next 450 votes gave it a 7-9. If they were to stand outside the theater and poll people who actually watched the film it would have a much higher rating. I saw grown men in the theater crying during this film, I didn’t think it was very funny except for the bath tub scene but it was a feel good movie. Tyler just needs to put Oprahs name on everything to get some respect like he did with Precious.

@108 they are not just geared towards black people, if he had to rely on black people alone to make over 50 million Tyler wouldnt make it, if you can relate to kids being in bad situations or being in a bad relationship you can relate to this film. The thing about the rating is I’m not sure how many of the people who enjoyed this film ran home to vote on imdb or even know what imdb is. They went to Tyler Perry’s websitethanked him and moved on.

I watched the Blind side which has a 7.9 rating and felt that it was very mediocre. It was predictable there weren’t any surprises Sandra Bullock’s performance wasn’t over the top but she is gonna get nominated for an oscar while Teraji acted her @$$ off and will probably get overlooked because people are too closed minded to enjoy a movie with a black cast.

Yes major release! The music in this movie alone makes it worthwhile (Mary J Blige, Gladys Knight, and Marvin Winans) I wish a soundtrack would come out. It grossed over 53 million, was number 1 at the box office when it was released raking in 23 million opening weekend.

That imdb rating is bs. Tyler Perry has made some really awful movies lately and he really needs to stop sneaking Madea into all the movies, but this movie was actually pretty good even though the plot is similar to all his other films.

Teraji did a d*mn good job of acting in this one, as well as the girl who played the big sister. This is definitely better than Madea goes to Jail and Meet the Browns.

But if you think it sucks that bad why even comment on it. If its not your for you just overlook it. You mean to tell me you comment on every crap release on this site. Or is it you are really a racist deep down and you can’t bottle it inside anymore so you release your rage on the internet. How can you actually judge a film you haven’t watched?
