Plot: Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. @86 If my machine wasn’t powered by a hamster wheel (I’m too lazy to pedal the exercise bike) and I actually had a video card with a tv output, I’d probably do the same. Having them on disc is nice though… and means you don’t need a Terabyte drive. I was collecting on the computer, but ran out of disk space in under a month!

Downloaded it now, it is a one time fix like said above, about +400ms needed only once.
Or write a batch file and vcf for nandub so it cut s the movie into 2, resync the bad part and rejoin them without recompressing the video and output with a different filename.
It goes out of sync just once but it lasts through the rest,just increase the audio delay by 150ms and it’s all good.The overcrop is probably bout half an inch in total from my judgement anyways.

Really Badly cropped at bottom (See how much of the FBI warning has been lost right at the beginning of the file.
Also sound goes way off sync as stated above at 47mins
so if its nuked why keep spreadin it around .. just delete it and wait for a proper or make a bat file that fixes the audio and pass that around instead of a messed up avi
HERE IS HOW TO FIX BAD SYNC WITH VIRTUAL DUB -(http://www.virtualdub.org)
So, open VirtualDub. Open the AVI by pressing CTRL+O or by clicking ‘File’ then ‘Open Video File’. Now go to ‘Video’ and select ‘Direct Stream Copy’.
Now press CTRL+R or click ‘Video’ then ‘Frame Rate’.
Now select the ‘radio button’ that says ‘Change so video and audio durations match’ . You should end up with a non-standard frame rate,. Ok now just press F7 or ‘File’ and ‘Save As AVI’.
WORKS FOR ME!

@188. Its cropped more than say, the Brave One was. More than usual would be my answer. Too much is also a good answer.
The crop is to drop the “property of …” piece… You can still see some of it at the bottom in the beginning before it show’s him driving around town… I’d say 1/2 to 1 inch off the bottom is gone

ok peoples if you are like me and couldn’t wait for a repack of this movie but don’t want it to be ruined due to bad sync issues, you can do this to create one flawless in-sync avi file:
1. download virtualdub (it’s free)
2. open the ths avi in virtual dub, and split the file into two separate avi’s at 44:30 or wherever it goes out of sync. Now we have Part 1 and Part 2.
3. now open just Part 2 and go under Audio>Interleaving to adjust by 500-550 ms and save as Part 2b or whatever.
4. now open Part 1, go to the end of it, go to File>Append Avi Segment and load in your Part 2b (with the sync fix). Now go to save as avi and you will end up with one almost seemless almost completely in sync avi file.
Oh and by the way, make sure you have “Direct Stream Copy” selected under the Video and Audio menus every step of the way. I know this is a really incomplete quickly written tutorial but you can find help for the program elsewhere on the web. I just did this with this file and ended up with a very nice result…no wait for a repack!

For those that can’t get the virtualdub fix to work. Make sure you use virtualdub mp3freeze or nandub. it will fix the vbr issue. I have tried it and it worked fine. Good Luck..

4. Navigate to the movie (avi file) that has the audio that’s out of sync and open
5. Click “Video” >>> “Direct stream copy”
6. Click “Video” >>> “Frame rate…”
7. Click the radio button beside “Change to “23.978″ frames per second”
8. Click “OK”
9. Click “File” >>> “Save as AVI…”
Should take under a minute to fix.

Looks like there are no sync issues.
I still prefer to wait so I can watch ALL the image…too bad about the cropping.
I know many want to watch this but willing to bet there is a REAL.PROPER by morning and maybe even have blur rather than cropping.
I dont think it’s cropped, they just cropped out the black, and on the FBI warning is fullscreen so it seems cut off

Read other posts, it’s cropped.
“Property of” has been removed which was about 1/4″ from bottom and is said close to 1/2″ is missing from bottom.
If this was a FS DVDSCR they should have left it as such and not try and crop it to WS

If you downloaded the THS release, all you had to do was open it up in VLC, and press Ctrl + K (or Ctrl + L) to sync it.

I guess a lot of people are too cheap to spring for a graphics card with S-Video out…..and obviously those people arent going to own a HDTV so I guess they cannot connect the PC’s they own to a TV of any sort. Step into this century people and upgrade your GPU FFS. I have three cards ranging from the GeForce 5600FX to the GeForce 8800GS and they all have S-Video out slots….even the 5600 FFS….and if you can’t afford to spend at least $80 to $150 for a consumer grade GPU you might as well just quit using PC’s period.
…..or maybe the PC isn’t next to a TV set ……..just saying….
I use a Mvix player so no reason for me to have such a card.

the vdub is making my video worse any clue why? i followed instructions perfectly as well. when i loaded the original avi into vdub, it warns me of the avi’s vbr but i figured every 1 got that…what is wrong?

umm just download hookah’s release and use virtual dub to fix sync issues, thats what i’m doing, most p2p release have the crop problem and it never gets fixed so don’t hope for ths to fix the release and if they do, don’t check internet for the release you should be checking gnetella network so go on bearshare and start searching or search through dc++ network

ok i did what i said i would do a couple posts above and everything is perfect 200 5 minutes becasue i rechecked everything twice …this is very watchable…not perfect, if your some i want dvd-9 or hd, dont get this, otherwise for people who just want to watch the movie…down it!!!
Just finished watching the movie. As I said before, I grabbed the proper posted @213. Very good quality overall. One place where the audio fell out of sync at around 1 hr:09 min. lasted about a minute or so then was okay again. The night/dark action scenes are
not very clear, but I was still able to follow along. I hadn’t seen the movie yet and still enjoyed it thoroughly. The cropping wasn’t an issue with watching the movie. If they had to crop out the watermark to protect the source of the leak, so be it. The cropping didn’t affect the viewing experience whatsoever!
In summation, if you are super fussy about the quality, i.e. you only watch R5 and DVDRips, you’ll want to wait. In my opinion, though, it’s your loss.

My card has an S-Video out, but I only have composite inputs. I use an S-Video to composite cable to connect my computer to the TV, but the video quality sucks. The picture has visible distortions in it that give the appearance of wrinkles in the screen. I’ve tested the same cable by using it to connect my cable box’s S-Video out to the same composite input and the picture was fine. I exchanged several emails with the company who made the card (XFXForce) and after a lot of useless suggestions that did nothing to improve the picture quality, they stated that the card was never meant to work with an S-Video to composite cable, even though one was included and the Nvidia drivers have an output setting that allows you to toggle the ouput between S-Video and Composite (changing to Composite makes a slight improvement in picture quality).
I find it hard to believe that other devices work just fine with an S-Video to Composite cable, but yet a GeForce4 MX440 can’t produce a good picture, especially considering how rare it was to find TVs and VCRs with S-Video inputs at the time that card was released.
Any advice on what I can do to improve the image quality?
Could someone upload a syncfix for the THS version?

I enjoyed the hell out of this release, near perfect quality on both sound and picture, when the out of sync sound starts the WORST part about it is clicking CTRL + K up to 5 times in VLC player, thats it, watch the rest of the movie with perfect sync! if you cant do that, then you dont wanna watch this movie enough, So Use VLC player –> wait for out of sync –> increase by 500ms with CTRL K –> enjoy the rest of the movie.

And something kind offtopic, RS accounts for example cost really less than torrents.. In a torrent you must leave sometimes your PC opened during the night for a big iso file or something like that. Do you know that you pay some $ or Euros for the us the Europeans in the Electricity company? and plus you let your CPU and other parts opened reducing somehow their “life”.. 8$/month for an account in Rapidshare or somewhere else are less than torrents.

380 – if you have DSL with dynamic IP you just need switch off/on your DSL modem to get new IP and you don’t need to wait for download from RS, so you don’t need to wait at downloading from RS, but I still prefer A/Xdrive/Mom/RnB/Yastorage filehostings

I am downloading the rerip right now….off of midnight-torrents.com im sure it will go public soon, but most pvts have it already….i just got finished watching the copy by XviD, and its definitley watchable, if you want the 2cd rerip though by THS, then just wait another 30 mins or less, and it will be on public. Not sure if 2cds was necessary for quality reasons, but the nfo says it fixed all audio problems and missing frams or w.e. hope that helps clear some stuff up

The movie is around 100 mins. There is no need for a 2 cd release. THS rerip is same quality as others (both sound and video) so a 2 cd version is pointless and waste of space. At the moment all the releases have their flaws, unless you really want to watch this movie I suggest you wait a while longer for a release that fixes all the current problems. I would personally recommend the the THS rerip but its oversized and is jittery at fast moving scenes.

I don’t know where the missing parts are but the nfo says 101 mins (1 hr 41 mins). But after downloading, it’s only 96 mins (1 hr 36 mins). Other than that it (I.Am.Legend.PROPER.DVDSCR.XviD) is fine. I am d’ling the rerip now. Will let you know how it is.

Was pretty chuffed when i seen this released last night, liked the story but hated the CGI infected people and dogs. Some CGI is ok when used on certain things but an an IMDB user said “They shouldve used actors for the infected faces and just used the CGI for when they was attacking.

About the DVDR i haven’t seen it myself but problems about it were rumours I cannot say that there is a definate problems hence the “apparently”. The only way you can find out is by watching it and telling us if there is a problem. I have seen the repack of iMBT and it seems fine at first glance and the same could be true for DVDR so don’t take my word for it until its been definately proved to be dodgy and the same goes for iMBT repack.

This is a decent copy of the scrnr but it has a few dark scence and at @700 mb the video quality does get kinda fuzzy and inviewable in these places. Also appears to be cropped definately on the bot possibly the top as well. These are all minor compromises though. My main qualm with this release is that two thirds of the way through the movie the audio goes out of sync. It jumps ahead the video by 3s. It’s most annoying. I’ve tried different players, Windows Media Player, WinDVD, and VLC. All have the same effect. This video is ok.

I am legend is a brill film. i love Sam and cryed when he had to die because my bestfriend, Bella my dog, is crossed with a german shep and she had died a few days before i watched it.
ANYWAY. i recomend this film to anyone who finds it hard to have nightmares. love this film. i hope they make a I Am Legend 2. I think it is one of the best films i have ever seen!
