I Am Legend 2007 DVDSCR AC3 5.1 x264-DiGG

May be this is little too many posts for one movie but I Am Legend simply deserves it. The leaked screener for critics created such an awe it will surely be one of the most popular releases of this year. And when we already have so high-quality source, it would be a shame to not utilize it on 100%. So that’s why a non-scene group DiGG released a 2CD version of this movie encoded in x264 and with amazing 5.1 AC3 sound. I recommend VLC to play this .mkv file, you won’t have to hassle with all the codecs. DVD quality on “2 CDs”, which better present do you want for Christmas!

Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague — The Infected — lurk in the shadows… watching Neville’s every move… waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind’s last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered… and quickly running out of time.

Core Media Player + CoreAVC Pro + AC3Filter (or CoreAAC if necessary) is a bit better because it uses less CPU. Especially in HD content playing it’s more efficient.

I am so happy to see so many nice and intelligent comments about this film. The readers of Releaselog must be the “top of the crop”. So nice to see people downloading 4 copies of the same film, and no one gets the original DVD… why go rip, re-encode when you can get the original DVD. But I guess you all are so smart, and have your 100’s of rapidshare (or what not) links from “safe” sources.
Torrents are for losers and n00bs. You are begging to be caught… but since you all know that, I guess I’ll just shut up and enjoy my DVD.

I Am Legend 2007 DVDSCR Scene Image Comparison:

I’ve made a quality comparison between the three “group” releases (THS, iMBT, DiGG) for the recently released, “I Am Legend”. This should help all of those users who are questioning which version of the film to download and watch.

    Normal: http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/352/iamlegendimagecomparexpdy2.jpg
    Zoomed: http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/1539/iamlegendimagecomparezoje0.jpg
    Bright: http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/2034/iamlegendimagecomparebrmh6.jpg

You can easily see that the recent DiGG release not only has the better sound but it also has the superior image quality. The resolution is higher and the image is much more detailed. The next best release is from iMBT, which is very watchable but not quite as sharp as the spectacular DiGG release. THS rounds up last place with the worst resolution and screen detail although we have to give them props for being first out of the gate.

All three releases are cropped to remove almost all of the screener notification text, which appears every so many minutes reminding you that this is after all just a screener. I don’t know why they even bothered cropping as the notification isn’t that intrusive and only lasts aprox 30 seconds every so often. Actually the notifications are farther apart than with most other screener releases.

This movie is very deserving of multiple RLSLOG entries and these screeners are as close as you’re going to get to an actual DVD release within the next 3-5 months. It’s a shame that many “critics” are slamming Will Smith for his performance which I personally thought was pronominal. I guess someone will always b!tch about something.

    Enjoy and happy downloading,

to the mockingbirds …. I mean a 1:1 copy of the academy DVD…. get it.. no re-encoding just the DVD with awesome picture and 5.1 Digital audio…

So by original dvd I mean no monkey re-encoding just pure MPEG2 in high bitrate.. For those that ask where… if you have to ask, you probably cant get it.. but one clue.. not a p2p thing, but I guess it has leaked out to torrents, so you should find it using your skilz…

    @27 Santa2061,

    How do you define “robust”? Sure, VLC supports a bunch of formats without needing external codecs, but the program is about as stable as a two-legged table. Play with the options too much, it crashes. Select certain options while playing, it crashes. Try to load two copies so that you can compare two files side by side and you end up with two slideshows and audio that goes “Th-th-th-th-ut-ut-ut-ut…” Plus, there’s something not quite right about the full-screen controls. I can’t quite put my finger on what’s wrong, but maybe you can help me spot the problem;

these files are completely useless to anyone who wants to burn to dvd and watch on home dvd player
    it is an annoying format

  90. stacy
    December 22nd, 2007 | 18:43

read 82. convert x to dvd can convert the file to dvd format for you. even mkv

  91. Cam
    December 22nd, 2007 | 18:44

@ 91 no these files are fine unless you are talking about avi’s with a Divx player. Just convert these to DVD otherwise. I use the The Film Machine for this with Cinema Craft Encoder. It will give the best results. Far better than Convert X to DVD. CCE version 2.67 with a crack can be found around easily. Its about a 4-6 hour conversion depending on the number of passes you do though a 2 pass is more than enough. It will keep the AC 3 5.1 sound in tact too.

  92. stacy
    December 22nd, 2007 | 18:49

can you use cce with dvd shrink?

  93. cabrerjc
    December 22nd, 2007 | 19:07

How come no one will just post a proper fully functioning .iso file so we all can stop doing all this converting and we can just burn it straight to a DVD?

  94. SamKook
    December 22nd, 2007 | 19:07

To play it to the 360 you have to use tversity or convert it yourself.

  95. smaugthewyrm
    December 22nd, 2007 | 19:27

@95, because bandwidth is still a very real issue for most of the world.

when i think of an .iso of a film, that would be aprox 4GB in dvd format. even on an excellent internet connection, that is still quite alot.

700MB film release is the balance most currently agree on for quality vs download time.

also is the right size to burn on a single CD which is very inexpensive.

mkv seems to also have won the war for codecs on blueray and hddvd rips. it just works well. .ts as a pain in the A** and getting powerdvd to play a native hddvd can be problematic at best.

that is when “no one will just post a proper full functioning .iso file”.

    ;)

    December 22nd, 2007 | 19:39

For those interested in DVDs try this instead of converting this copy.

    I.Am.Legend.PROPER.DVDSCR.DVDR-ThP

Notes : First of all there is no menu on both rels. The other release wouldnt start or play. We tried to make a patch but there was to much difrence.

    nzb here

    https://www.binsearch.info/?q=thp-iaalscr&max=25&adv_age=7&server=

Also like i mentioned before if you already have the other DVDR a simple re-authoring works.

  97. December 22nd, 2007 | 19:40

53 - nice posting ! For everyone to know I tried the DVDR and the titles are screwed up, and it won’t play in your DVD player. Not even work on VLC either.

  98. Cam
    December 22nd, 2007 | 19:46

@ 94 No it won’t work with DVD Shrink. Heres a link to the Film Machine though to try if you like. Its free BTW & is a really good proggie. I’ve used it for over a year now with great success. It’ll even make you an ISO to burn your disk.
