I Am Legend 2007 Alternate Cut WS DVDRip XViD-EwDp
Haven’t there already been enough “Alternative” anything of this film? I seriously don’t see the point in making a release of an entire film which has already been released but just with a different ending or slightly different scenes. Hardcore fans of this film (are there such people?) might want to download this, but casual viewers will probably not see the point. To top it all, EwDp haven’t even included the differences of this release in their NFO. Brilliant. Quality on the other hand looks great with a crisp image and AC3 audio.
Edit: Well it seems the main difference in this release is the ending, which most of you will have seen separately by now. If anyone notices any other differences, be sure to post them in the comments.
It is the year 2012. In the ruins of New York city. Robert Neville who is a military scientist who is the lone survivor of a biochemical disease which was supposed to cure cancer 3 years previous. With only blood thirsty zombies as his neighbors and his trusty dog, Samantha, Robert is trying to discover a cure for this disease and to find out any other people who might have also survived.

The alternate ending has been non-released and is only 7min11sec by itself. Unless you have the DVD with the options to choose the theatrical or alternate ending you can only see this moving with the theatrical and have to settle with seeing the alternate separate.
THIS release is one of those pick and choose DVDRips and they, obviously, have chosen to rip the alternate ending. So ReeGed, it is necessary because up until now we had to get the alternate ending separately from the many other theatrical releases.
Did I say alternate and theatrical enough? Didn’t think so.
I want to see the one with live actors instead of CGI zombies. If it exists…

I bought the 2 Disc Stelbook at best buy today, and really like the altrnate ending, so I reccomed people download this.

I’m sure you’ve all heard it elsewhere but this movie is nothing like the book (they took the name and that is it). Do yourself a favor and please read this book (partial graphic novel).
Also, they were vampires not zombies.
That said, I did enjoy this movie and the alternate ending was better.
A way better ending wich utilizes the feelings played upon in earlier scenes, it just makes more sense and ties it all up much better.

Its a shame this was just sh1t all round or i might have got this one, the first cr4p film Mr.Smith has ever made as far as i know.
There were also two additional changes on the alternate cut aside from the alternate ending:
1) there is no Bob Marley song played over the end credits, just James Newton Howard’s score
2) There is also a minute or so of new scenes in which Neville brings Anna and Ethan to a couple of places in Manhattan. These scenes pop up after Neville states at the kitchen table to Alice that he is staying in Manhattan.
For the record..I liked the alternate cut ending..it was closer to the vision of the ending of the book. (not to mention it keeps alive a possibility of a sequel)
This ending is much better then the original one.

the alternate endind is much better that the theatrical cut (handgrenate, heroic, meaningless death). Although the movie sucks kinda - cause: the mutants are badly animated, cause the part with the woman and child is absolutely lame and wigtout meaning to the story and……and and. The first 30min are okay.

I know I spelt “their” wrong. I was simply pointing out that he was criticising me for my grammar, when he had also made a grammatical error in his post “thats”. Anyway my main dispute was with the EwDp fanboy. He had a go at some guy who simply stated EwDp are a lame internal group who don’t even release good titles, they just want leech credits. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they are running a pay2leech site.

actually, the original ending (where character dies) was pretty good. i even felt dissapointed by seeing the alternative ending. no more reason for seeing alternate cut. IMHO
As said before by others, I really prefer the book to the movie and was a little disappointed especially by the original ending of the film.

I heard that they originally shot it with live actors with makeup and then decided to redo it with CGI overlayed (for scenes in which they didn’t have background plates) in post production. Obviously, it wasn’t very indicative of today’s special effects which would explain this theory…

The good doctor realizes that the zombie armies leader wants
his honey back, and bravely opens up the protective shield of
glass, to take her out on the gurney, the leader doesn’t kill
him, but is menacing along with his crew…robert injects her
with that stuff that counter acts his “cure” attempts and she
is restored to the growling joy of the zombie leader…they
leave, robert slumps to the floor, and a moment later he the woman and the child are seen leaving the city by way of a bridge….(wasn’t it destroyed?)…as the woman is heard sending out a new radio message detailing that there are survivors and where they are headed……that’s all.
This ending is more hopeful in the sense that the zombies seem to have retained what we thought was missing…a sense
of self and community (humanity toward one another) so it is not so grim…on the other hand you have to wonder, what this means as far as looking for a “cure”…..will there ever be one?
It’s more hollywood, in the sense of looking for a live and let live cop-out…between rival groups…..”we are all god’s children”-sort of notion…and it makes the point of last man on earth and his sacrifice less meaningful…but then the original ending does this by having the woman and child showing up in the first place, AND WORSE, when neville off’s himself to save her and kill the zombies in the process…she runs off to find a whole fortified community….so that diminishes at least the idea of lone man in the world…he was the only one in the city…that would have been more honest…and less compelling.
