   Plot: When a minor hurricane strikes just off the coast of Florida, meteorologist Leah Kaplan (Daryl Hannah) and her team fly into the storm to observe the effects. But what seems like a routine mission is anything but when the hurricane grows into a churning tempest. Now it’s a race against time for the crew — and a conservative-leaning reporter (Dylan Neal) on board — to get the aircraft back on land and warn everyone about the storm.

5. Critisism

   Darryl Hannah does her best as a tortured meteorologist whose tragic past leads to her to risk her life tracking hurricanes, but the plot is slow to start and bad but not even so bad it’s laughable.

   Most of the action takes place on board the plane so badly made it falls to pieces doing the job it is supposed to be suitable for, while on the ground the director of the National Storm Center refuses to heed her warnings (for a director of such a facility he seems unable to understand the significance of the data he’s sent her to collect and unwilling to listen to anyone else’s analysis of it).

   Single dad Dylan Neal is the reporter Hannah hates at first sight, so naturally they’re an item by the close of the movie. The other crew get brief back-stories (divorced, baby on the way) except the only non- Caucasian character who isn’t deemed important enough to worry over. Guess which one survives? (the baby trump card plays yet again)

   Worst of all, the movie ends as the hurricane hits landfall, so this a movie about a hurricane that doesn’t in fact feature a hurricane. I wasn’t expecting Oscar material but I was expecting an average storyline well told. Disappointing.

    Can someone PLEASE tell me exactly some IDIOT decided to use this phrase “and a conservative-leaning reporter” in describing this? You mean to tell me that some of you on the left (as this was obviously written by) do indeed think that a “and a conservative-leaning reporter” would allow their politics to get in the way of informing people of the storm and saving lives? So why did they mention it like this and not mention the other characters political leanings, or were they just trying to make this “and a conservative-leaning reporter” the fall guy for everything bad to happen in the film and the left leaning others the enlightened hero’s? Sounds like nothing more then political pablum and as such a waste of space to even be posted here.
