House Of Saddam S01E01 WS PDTV XviD-AFFiNiTY

Well, this is a new BBC-2 Drama/HBO-films titled ‘House of Saddam’. The focus of the series is of course Saddam Hussein and his closest inner circle. The series is produced in four parts 60 minutes each. Episode one, Saddam’s rise to power and his elimination of political opposition (sounds like a Hitler copy-cat). Audio bitrate at 80 is a little pathetic and low quality but does the job. The show has very high production values. Does seem to be a little bit biased propaganda, but it’s more subtle and does not detract from it being a well made series.

1979: a vibrant party is in full swing at the palatial residence of deputy president Saddam Hussein. Behind closed doors, momentous decisions are made by Saddam’s inner circle. This close band of family and friends, fiercely loyal, have serious concerns about the increasing power of Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeini. When al-Bakr joins the party, he is taken aside and told he will be ousted and replaced with Hussein. The die is cast.

A series of brutal murders follows as Saddam purges the Iraqi regime of opposition. At the al-Khuld lecture theatre, in front of the Ba’ath Party, he reads out a list of ‘traitors’ who are taken outside and shot. He turns on his close friend Adnan Hamdani – shooting him at point-blank range. When Saddam’s wife, Sajida, questions his actions she is told that a man who can kill his best friend has no weakness.

In Baghdad, Iranian agents are waging a suicide bombing campaign. Saddam calls his council around him, deciding the only option is war with Iran. His mother, Subha, is worried. Saddam has only invited half of the family. The al-Majids are there, but where are her family, the Ibrahims? Saddam’s brother Barzan has been cut out of the decision-making process.

The war is not straightforward, and there are many casualties on the battlefield. With the country’s fortunes at an all-time low, Saddam visits the town of Dujail to rally the people. On leaving, his convoy comes under fire from dissidents and he is nearly killed. He insists on returning to speak again, insisting terrorists will not dim his spirit.

Back in Baghdad, Saddam turns on Barzan and banishes him from Iraq. The president’s power is at an all-time high.

Saddam was America’s best friend in the Middle East until they couldn’t find Osama and wanted a scapegoat. I’m not defending the man – he was by no means a good guy – but at the same time, this show paints a pretty dark picture of him. Noone is entirely evil, its a shame the BBC lacked the balls to show him as the greedy, vain, bloodthirsty, but ultimately human puppet of the west he really was.

    @ _—_|||

“it’s made by the bbc/hbo, exactly where would the bias arise from when the dum fvks b|tchin don’t sound to me like saddam fans?”

The BBC got into a lot of trouble with the government about five years ago because they ran a story about the Iraq ‘dodgy dossier’ and how it was ’sexed up’ to persuade the British public and the House of Commons that a war in Iraq was necessary. The inside info came, anonymously, from a British UN Weapons inspector named David Kelly. Pressure was applied on the BBC to reveal their source, and eventually Kelly was forced to go public. He ultimately killed himself on 17th July 2003, a few days after meeting with the parliamentary commission investigating the leak scandal. An investigation (the Hutton inquiry) into how his death had come about turned out to be a whitewash and the government got off with a slap on the wrists. The end result was that the BBC became very scared of crossing the government, who could always remove their tv licence funding and basically end the company. So that’s why, ever since then, the BBC generally backs the Bush/Blair version of events surrounding Iraq.

As for HBO, I had no idea anyone held the network in such high regard. Sure they’ve made some excellent entertainment, but they’re hardly a source of pure truth – they have an agenda, just like any other network/station.

Islam is not a religion nor is it a cult. It is a complete system.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic and military components. The religious component is a beard for all the other components.

Islamization occurs when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their so-called “religious rights.”

When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to “the reasonable” Muslim demands for their “religious rights,” they also get the other components under the table. Here’s how it works (percentages source CIA: The World Fact Book (2007)). As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

    United States — Muslim 1.0%

    Australia — Muslim 1.5%

    Canada — Muslim 1.9%

    China — Muslim 1%-2%

    Italy — Muslim 1.5%

    Norway — Muslim 1.8%

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:

    Denmark — Muslim 2%

    Germany — Muslim 3.7%

    United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%

    Spain — Muslim 4%

    Thailand — Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. They will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. (United States).

    France — Muslim 8%

    Philippines — Muslim 5%

    Sweden — Muslim 5%

    Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%

    The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%

    Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world. When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions (Paris — car-burnings). Any non- Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats (Amsterdam — Mohammed cartoons).

    Guyana — Muslim 10%

    India — Muslim 13.4%

    Israel — Muslim 16%

    Kenya — Muslim 10%

    Russia — Muslim 10-15%

After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning:

    Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%

At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare:

    Bosnia — Muslim 40%

    Chad — Muslim 53.1%

    Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%

From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels:

    Albania — Muslim 70%

    Malaysia — Muslim 60.4%

    Qatar — Muslim 77.5%

    Sudan — Muslim 70%

After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide: Bangladesh — Muslim 83%

    Egypt — Muslim 90%

    Gaza — Muslim 98.7%

    Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%

    Iran — Muslim 98%

    Iraq — Muslim 97%

    Jordan — Muslim 92%

    Morocco — Muslim 98.7%

    Pakistan — Muslim 97%

    Palestine — Muslim 99%

    Syria — Muslim 90%

    Tajikistan — Muslim 90%

    Turkey — Muslim 99.8%

United Arab Emirates — Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of “Dar-es-Salaam” — the Islamic House of Peace – there’s supposed to be peace because everybody is a Muslim:

    Afghanistan — Muslim 100%

    Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%

    Somalia — Muslim 100%

    Yemen — Muslim 99.9%

Of course, that’s not the case. To satisfy their blood lust, Muslims then start killing each other for a variety of reasons. “Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; and the tribe against the world and all of us against the infidel. — Leon Uris, “The Haj”

It is good to remember that in many, many countries, such as France, the Muslim populations are centered around ghettos based on their ethnicity. Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. Therefore, they exercise more power than their national average would indicate.

@ all the comments against Islam… you’re incredibly uneducated, I’m anti-religion but comments like 38 (Bob) are just ridiculous and show how ignorant some people are. At 26 – I’m not sure you’re I’m understanding your terms correctly, however, I would assume you mean Islam – Muslim. It is a religion, look at its history. It’s incorrect interpretations by uneducated fools that combine it with Politics – which many would class as ‘Islamism’. Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism… Islamism is little more than the abuse of a religion and misconstrewing of historical sources.

@39 Be careful what you wish for, Europeans as a statistic do travel have more passports per capita, now Europe is not a country, its a continent of tiny countries and passports are need to go to and from bordering tiny countries. Now stats also show that no other country in the world travels to foreign countries more than the US and if you eliminate traveling to neighboring countries like US to Canada or France to Spain than than Americans travel more than all of the imaginary Country of Europe combined,When you imagine someone living in the US, don’t picture them living on either of the coasts. Get out a world map or a globe that indicates several US cities (don’t just look at a map of the US–you won’t perceive the true distance that way) and look at Minneapolis. They are a 3 hour flight from an ocean. Not a nice, sunny tropical beach…but from any ocean period. Try to imagine that. It gives an entirely different perspective on a traveler’s desires and priorities.when we go out of country we realy go out of country really really far away experiencing differ cultures not recycled copy-cat American culture regurgitated.

@40 If ignorance and poverty are responsible for the growth of extremist views in the Islamic world, someone needs ask to Muslim students, privileged enough and bright enough to attend some of the United Kingdom’s best universities, why one-in-three of them endorses killing in the name of Islam.
Among its findings of Muslim beliefs:

    * 40 per cent support introduction of sharia into British law for Muslims
    * One-third back the idea of a worldwide Islamic caliphate based on sharia law
    * 40 per believe it is unacceptable for Muslim men and women to associate freely
    * 24 per cent do not think men and women are equal in the eyes of Allah
    * 25 percent have little or no respect for homosexuals.
    * 53 per cent believe killing in the name of religion is never justified (compared with 94 per cent of non-Muslims), while 32 per cent say it is
    * 57 percent believe Muslim soldiers serving in the UK military should be able to refuse duty in Muslim countries
    * More than half favor an Islamic political party to support their views in parliament
    * One-third don’t think or don’t know if Islam is compatible with Western views of democracy
“Significant numbers appear to hold beliefs which contravene democratic values,” Hannah Stuart, one of the report’s authors, told the London Times. “These results are deeply embarrassing for those who have said there is no extremism in British universities.”

The report echoes one released last year by the Policy Exchange which found 37% of all Muslims aged 16-24 would prefer to live under a sharia system.

In addition to polling of 1,400 students, the researchers visited more than 20 universities to interview students and listen to guest speakers brought on campus. The report notes radical Islamic preachers regularly deliver inflammatory speeches that target homosexuals and border on anti-Semitism.
“Our researchers found a ghettoized mentality among Muslim students at Queen Mary (college),” said James Brandon, deputy director at CSC. “Also, we found the segregation between Muslim men and women at events more visible at Queen Mary.”

A spokesman for Queen Mary told the Times the university knew Islamic preachers had spoken on campus but was unaware of what they had said.

“Clearly, we in no way associate ourselves with these views. However, also integral to the spirit of university life is free speech and debate, and on occasion speakers will make statements that are deemed offensive,” he said.

Wes Streeting, president of the National Union of Students, condemned the study: “This disgusting report is a reflection of the biases and prejudices of a right-wing think tank – not the views of Muslim students across Britain. Only 632 Muslim students were asked vague and misleading questions, and their answers were willfully misinterpreted.”

The report was criticized by the country’s largest Muslim student body, the Federation of Student Islamic Societies. Most of the Islamic societies on campuses operate under the FOSIS umbrella.

The authors of the report note that campus Islamic societies have, in the past, been where some UK terrorists became radicalized. They cite Kafeel Ahmed, who drove a jeep engulfed in flames into a building at the Glasgow airport last year and died of his burns. Investigators believe he adopted jihadist beliefs while studying at Anglia Ruskin university, Cambridge.

In April, WND reported that the director-general of MI5 had warned the government that donations of hundreds of millions of pounds from Saudi Arabia and powerful Muslim organizations in Pakistan, Indonesia and the Gulf Straits had led to a “dangerous increase in the spread of extremism in leading university campuses.”

“The finding that a large number of students think it is okay to kill in the name of religion is alarming,” said Anthony Glees, professor of security and intelligence studies at Buckingham University.

“There is a wide cultural divide between Muslim and non-Muslim students. The solution is to stop talking about celebrating diversity and focus on integration and assimilation.” http://www.socialcohesion.co.uk/

I feel sad for you Europe,if you critique Islam in any way – expect one of the following pokemon cards to be pulled
    Race card

@41 – I spent the last year studying at Queen Mary University, in East London, the parts where British Islamism begun so I don’t need any quotes thanks. You’re as bad as the extremists thought, quoting other sources and statistics (I don’t know where you got) and just pasting them as the final article. Perhaps add some liberal, open-minded thought to that rather than just believing some pointless stats. You’re incredibly one-sided and when I wrote about ignorance, it wasn’t stupidity. If you really knew the overview of UK Universities you know lots of them are non-Muslims also and I wouldn’t class them under the intellectual category. By ignorance – I meant lack of ability to think independently, openly and positively. Your attitude reminds me of Michael Moore’s negativity and one-sidedness.

You even mentioned how the President of the National Union of Students disagreed with the report’s right-wing biase. So your overall point is incredibly blurry.

Most people in the age category 16-24 are easily disillusioned and influenced, that’s why a lot of it’s classed as brainwashing. Your own perspective on the whole Muslim religion and the way you write so confidently about it is what I’d expect from some stereotypical Southern US white man. What is the point you’re trying to make anyway??? Just sounds like the ramblings of a non-Muslim trying to comment on something they have no idea about.
