House 2008 LiMiTED DVDRiP XViD-HLS

In case you guys complain getting drowned in the TV posts, here is a movie for u. Don’t get wrong, this is not the FOX show but a 2008 limited movie, which is an adaption of the same named novel. It covers the events that take place one night in an old, rustic inn in Alabama, where four guests and three owners find themselves locked in by a homicidical maniac. OMG, I always love this kind of plot. BTW, it gets a pretty high rating as 8 on IMDB. Check it out, it’s a HLS’s release.

PLOT: The exhausted couple stands in front of an inviting house, complete with gated stone wall, ancient oak trees, and a note welcoming weary travelers. Inside they find another couple with an equally troubling story about a similar accident. It seems that backwoods pranksters have made their day miserable. Still, they are safe . . .Or so they think.

8 out of 10 on imdb.com – but only 193 votes… Is this worth downloading?

Worth downloading? Well, how do you define the worth of something that you get more or less for free? Regarding the rating on imdb. It’s *clear* that these are done by friends and family of the film makers and don’t give a fair rating of the movie. Same with those reviews. Almost all reviewer did review ONLY this one, and gave it very high rating => no fair reviews. I’d expect something substandard (as you can judge from the only guy that did review other movies as well).

The book was great, but the last book based movies from these authors sucked the big one, VERY low budget. I’ll download simply because I’m a fan of the book, but I would say expect some low budget acting.

As for how it got a high score? It’s not out yet so anyone voting on it probably read the book and liked it. Like I said, the book was good.

@10 I wasn’t referring to this movie, I was talking about “The Visitation” and “Thr3e”, the last two book based movies by these authors (Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker). You are right though, they weren’t bad enough to use a handycam, but they definitely spent more money on the camera than on the actors :P .

how many of these movies with the plot of poor unsuspecting humans staying in a house/shack/cabin in the middle of nowhere turns into a horror nightmare kind of movies are they gonna make?

hasn’t this story line been filmed to death already?

Just to warn you all – this isn’t actually a horror movie, although it bills itself as one. It’s a Christian propaganda movie where they’re saved by ‘taking God into their heart’.

    Very disappointing.

    October 23rd, 2008 | 18:34

There isn’t much of a reason to post rapidshare links anymore. They’ve crippled their service today so much that it will essentially be destroyed. For more information check out their post here: http://rapidshare.com/news.html

Please continue with the megashares posts. They’re one company that continues to not monitor members downloads and allow files of any size.

This movie is based on Ted Dekker’s book “House”.
Ted Dekker is a Christian author, and although I’m not Christian, I enjoy most of his books (especially “Skin”).
He’s a good author. I cannot vouch for the movie, but the book is good. Most of his books have a general theme which is filled with action, adventure, mystery, intrigue, and of course there are religious overtones. I find his books captivating enough, that I can tolerate the religious parts.

Are you able to explain what rapidshare are doing in Leymans terms?

From what I can read it looks like the fun is over. A limit on 10 uploads from an anonomous source?

“It’s a Christian propaganda movie where they’re saved by ‘taking God into their heart’.” uh, dude, did you even watch this or read the book? Christian author =/= Christian propaganda movie. And, as I recall from the book, the ending is NOTHING like that…

@the dude talking about the story being used to death: might be true, but this uses a different brand or horror and it’s a good story, not just a vehicle for blood guts and gore.

anyway, thanks for posting this! i had almost given up hope on getting to see it! :D

I’m not a fan of Perretti or Dekker’s work. Thr3e for example was an exceedingly weak film, but they do try and infuse mystery into the proceedings and unlike a lot of horror they keep things subtle for the most part. A for effort but the Christian themes can be a little off putting.
