Guys from PUKKA released a new R5 rip of British super-movie Hot Fuzz few moments ago and we’re here to give you few details about this release. Hot Fuzz stands out at IMDB with a really high rating of 8.2, something which can’t be said about many movies. We’ve been covering the first cam of this movie almost 2 months ago, but this is a huge developement in quality. As we alreaedy got used to, this R5 offers absolutely perfect video quality and also not that bad audio (edit: well after listening to the full movie, I must say is actually is bad). Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer, with an arrest record 400% higher than any other officer on the force. He’s so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel’s superiors send him to a place where his talents won’t be quite so embarrassing – the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman. The son of amiable Police Chief Frank Butterman, Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life “bad boy,” and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for.
Angel is quick to dismiss this as childish fantasy and Danny’s puppy-like enthusiasm only adds to Angel’s growing frustration. wow, been waiting for this for some time now.
The video quality is top notch. The audio suffers from being “flat” and the details are hard to hear. Still very watchable release and no doubt the best at the moment.
Sometimes it makes you wonder… how DO they record the line, sometimes it sounds just like cam audio.
Definitely not an 8.2 in my view!

Not sure why, but I really didn’t care for this movie. I loved their first movie, Shawn of the Dead, but this one just wasn’t as funny. It certainly had it’s moments and I really wanted to like it, but is just never lived up to my expectations.

The DVD is due out on the 11th June. So, I’d not expect a Rip to appear till the end of May. Depends when they start shipping them to stores.

Trojans LOL, it doesn’t matter if the .rar file would be full of trojans ’cause they don’t SELF EXECUTE. You’d basically have to double click an .exe file to get infected. It doesn’t matter if you extract for example an .avi and .exe from a rar-file as far as you DON’T OPEN THE EXECUTABLE FILE.
.AVI FILES CAN’T CONTAIN WORMS, TROJANS etc.
And for f*ck’s sake use an updated real-time anti-malware tool so it doesn’t even matter if you try to dl & open some bloody viruses……
By the way. The audio on this is perfectly acceptable for an R5-Line. If you’re looking for a copy to keep, then wait for the DVD-Rip or buy it when it comes out (The option I’ll be going for).
However if, like me, you just haven’t got around to seeing this film yet, then this copy is your best bet so far.

Either way, one can do a easy thing to fool most people to open executable files, just rename them “movie.avi.exe” , because most people block viewing of the file-extensions, so the movie appears as a file called “movie.avi”. And since people see novithing wrong with opening a file called “movie.avi”…

Any file can contain malicious code no matter if it’s an avi or exe, but if the extension is not executable (.exe, .bat etc.) and viewed with a decent program (video files with vlc for example) it cannot cause the damage it was designed to.

It took me ages to read through all those comments. Such fun. Watching the movie as I write this and yeah the picture is perfect and the sound is a bit flat but movie still very watchable – yes anything with Simon Pegg in is hilarious (just seen Big Nothing where he plays a yank – still funny!) Nice to see that the Irish are still illiterate and the yanks don’t understand real humour (anything without knob gags) and the best part of the film is the swear box which says:

Just viewed this and the sound was not the greatest. Then a thought struck me… if the sound is direct from a phono/phone source wouldn’t the headphone equalizer setting in VLC help somewhat? Well it did. I was able to watch the rest of the movie with perfect audio and video. Perhaps this is a quick and dirty fix for all direct sound problems. I’ll try some other films and post my results.
