What is the fastest DVD burning software? I use Nero 7 with a Dual Core processor, 2 gigs of ram, and it takes over an hour to burn a DVD to watch on my DVD player. Nearly 2 hours if I burn 2 movies on same disk. I would love to find something that would be able to burn movies faster, and if possible, take advantage of the dual cores.

@Extra you should get a marked improvement with convertx. I have a dual core and converting divx or xvid avi to dvd then burning takes 30 to 40 minutes on convertx but it will take longer if you have the movie on the same hard drive as your operating system (some sorta swap file thing I guess) or try and do too much else at the same time as the conversion/burn eg play a game or let that antiviral/firewall prog run.

On a good day doing nothing else with a recently defragged drive and the wind behind it has done the entire thing in 20 minutes.

    @ Extra

Are you talking about converting AVI files and then burning? If you’re strictly burning a DVD, then a 16x disc would burn in about 5 minutes if your burner supports that speed.

I mean converting an .avi and burning it to play as a DVD video on my DVD player.

I haven’t burned anything with convertx, but hear it is good.

That one dosent look as good. Right now im with ashampoo. I started with that right after my nero starting sucking. I like the look and ease of ashampoo but geeze is it buggy. Any other suggestions for dvd burners? i would really like to be able to make nice menus for dvds also so that would be a plus. I also use convertx but i get some buggs with that too. Thanks.

I give every new burning app a whirl - still trying to find the elusive Nero replacement. This one is on the list of most terrible. I see no redeeming qualities to it at all. The features are bare bones to be generous, and you have absolutely no control over any part of the burn process. Give this one a miss unless you’re a total noob and will take the first thing that’s handed to you and never look back.

Currently what’s working best for me is imgburn. Free and it works like a charm. ConvertX gets the call for the rare times i want to convert anything to DVD. Haven’t had a need for (S)VCD in years now, but I think ConvertX can be talked into making (S)VCD compliant output. Don’t quote me on that tho - never had a need to try.

I was looking for a simple program to burn data, I downloaded 3 programs, Cheetah, Complex Evolution, and CDBurnerXP, and to my surprise CDBurnerXP was the best out of the 3, so if your looking for a simple program to burn Xvid files as data and play them on your Divx players I highly recommend CDBurnerXP.

AVG is a trojan itself, don’t use that piece of utter failure. If someone figures out how to get past the “wrong serial number” error, don’t be shy to let us know. ;)

    just use ultra iso. http://www.rlslog.net/ultraiso-premium-edition-v8662180-multilingual-incl-keymaker-core/

although v9 has already been released this is the only version i could find on rlslog.

it has a virtual drive aswell. it opens up and u can basically just drag ur data into the window and burn any type of data, anyway you want. alil more advanced then ur nero and ashampoo but the best in my book.

i use it to burn everything except my mp3 cds and i used to use vso but i just download the dvd image now so no need.

No virus/trojan present in this release. AVG and Ikarus both false positive on it, and Sophos reveals it is a generic patcher (ie: nothing). Nothing detected by the other 20+ AV’s at virustotal.com. Survey says: it’s clean!

I still wouldn’t recommend downloading this prog, tho. It really is quite useless.

Converting(FILES) AND burning, the one I am using right now is Ashampoo Movie shrink and burn3.
    Good-It works-basic backgrounds
Bad, to convert+burn can take 9+ HOURS!!

I use it to burn entire seasons onto a single DVD, with menus.

There are plenty of others that will do DVD-DVD, but files/shrink and burn are harder to find

I’m not new to downloading software from here but suprisingly i have never came across using a patch…all the application whit this software say ‘incorrect serial number’ when i use the patch, it creates BAK files, which when i get rid of the .BAK from the file name the applications still say ‘incorrect serial number’ and don’t load

PLEASE CAN I GET SOME HELP?!?!?!?!?

all the rapid shares i downloaded avg8 detected as a virus, normally i use ashampoo but i want to do light scribe and can not do that with ashampoo.

if you have no need for lightscribe and extra features, ashampoo is the best.
