Home of the Brave LIMITED DVDRip XviD-ViSUAL

Home of the Brave is yet another story about the war in Iraq, or more likely about people affected by this war. This limited movie made in American-Marrocan coproduction was released in a dvdrip now so you can enjoy it at home 2 months after official premiere. The cast looks very interesting with Samuel L. Jackson and also the star of Next, Jessica Biel. Group ViSUAL included German subs too, quality is on the standard level.

As their tour of duty in Iraq draws to a close, four American soldiers learn that they are scheduled to embark on one final, fateful mission that will forever change their concept of war. Shortly after receiving the news that they will soon be reunited with their families back in the United States, a unit serving in Iraq is deployed one a humanitarian mission to deliver medical supplies to a remote Iraqi village. Upon arriving in the village, the unit is viciously ambushed and many lives are lost.

Now, as the surviving members of the battalion return home and attempt to readjust to civilian life, the physical injuries and psychological scars sustained during that tragic event continue to take a heavy emotional toll on the war-torn soldiers. Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Biel, and rapper-turned-actor 50 Cent star in an affecting psychological war drama from Academy Award-winning director Irvin Winkler.

do the humvey come with spinners in the movie?

  10. June 2nd, 2007 | 23:07

This film is really worth the download, despite the low rating on imdb.com. raises interesting points- beyond the politics. I think it is interesting, whether you’re for or against the war. Very (sometimes too) realistic action throughout.

I have a feeling the low imdb rating is down to gung ho- support the troops without thinking voters – which this film mocks. To some extent tries also to make the blind on both sides to think a little. not a “forever classic” but very relevant and quite poignant with good production and acting all round- including “fidy”.

also this version is in sync as far as I can tell

    Re: 5five5

Your arguments sounded very convincing, but, unfortunately, a whole bunch of “bad acting and bad camera angles”, “the script is ridden with clichés and feels like a Lifetime Movie gone wrong”, and “he is right though, 50 Cent cant act for sh!t” comments (IMDB) have conclusively persuaded me otherwise.

    Re: Boo

look I’m not a big fan of 50 cent….and I haven’t seen this film…but my question is why the hell don’t you just watch a film and make up your own mind?

critics are just that…..and reviews on IMDB are certainly nothing to go by…..

Re 5five5: Not having seen the movie I can only trust your opinion, or indeed Boo’s opinion. I must say it is nice to see a constructive post on this site. I have learned that the version is in sync. That’s the sort of thing I want to know. Not the continual flaming of admin.

Have now done the same as Boo. Checked imdb, and I reckon I will pass. Still big kudos to 5five5 for posting his opinion, and to admin for flagging the release.

Judging from my own, rather extensive experience, everything that gets less than 6.3-6.6 at IMDB is practically unwatchable. That, of course, doesn’t mean that everything else is automatically good to watch: e.g. King Kong, Sin City, or Departed are all very highly rated movies and I literally hated each of them. Generally though, there is a much bigger chance of movie being enjoyable or interesting to watch if it has a rating of 7 or better.

As for 50 Cent being in the movie, I just do not believe in his acting abilities. Movies with (ex-)singers in them usually turn out to be ones that receive less than 6.3 at IMDB, and, as far as my line of reasoning goes, I’d rather read something on those Internets.

It’s marketing guys…. 50cents has a built in audience… It’s the old Elvis and beach blanket movies of the 60’s as far as putting in idols. As for the content and acting… well since I saw Courtney Love (spelling?) in some very good movies… I’ll just have make a decision after watching the movie. I don’t like Ice T in Law and Order.

re ckk. its on the main site now, with a hell of a lot more info than you gave. All I’m saying is if you have the info share it with admin, instead of trying to point score. Thats what im reading from your post in an unrelated thread.

  21. June 3rd, 2007 | 01:13

relax guys it is just a film!

if you have 1hr40mins to spare watch it and decide for your own self if not, don’t. I was surprised how unusually wrong imdb was- you might be too. In my opinion, the quotes found by “Boo” on imdb comments(!) are not indicative.

I suppose I have two points 1. reviewers- most of the time are just giving our own opinion to (hopefully) help others. 2. arguing on the net is just like fighting your shadow- you can see your opponent, no-one “wins”.

    So enjoy your weekend, chill.

  22. June 3rd, 2007 | 01:15

    *can’t really see your opponent

  23. June 3rd, 2007 | 01:30

Ok it bugs me too the analogy does not quite work the way I put it so here is my second try:

“2. Fighting on the net is like fighting your shadow. you opponent seems to come out with just as good moves as you do, you can see your opponent but you cant hit your opponent but even when it looks like you landed a killer punch, you just looked stupid.”

    1. It’s called English kids. Try learning it. Typing like a retard doesn’t make you look cool, it just makes you look like the retard you are.

    2. It’s 50 cent. I can accept that he could arguably be considered a musician (though he isn’t), but no one can deny that he’s a fucking retarded chimp. Add acting into the mix and you’re basically looking at a retarded chimp trying to act. About the only thing going for him is the fact that he deserves credit for taking money from stupid kids essentially being taken in by a retarded chimp, though that’s more amusing than anything to be impressed about.

    3. You’re ALL retarded. Especially you infants trying sadly to ‘one up’ each other with the fighting on the internet crap. Shut up, pay attention, and listen carefully when your betters are speaking.

IMDB is practically the movie Bible and rarely has a general rating been really off the mark. Since I have not heard any buzz about 50 or this movie it’s probably a pass.

  26. Boo
    June 3rd, 2007 | 02:03

5five5, I’m not trying to persuade anyone. Moreover, I actually am listening to your opinions, which seem to be more constructive than the “yo fuck u bitches 50 is gr8 and he plays a gud roll” commentary seen above. Even though I agree that IMDB ratings can occasionally be wrong, http://www.rottentomatoes.com, with its far more mature and professional critics, gave the movie 24%, which is, as one can guess, is exceptionally low. The consensus? “Hammy direction and a script lacking in nuance ruins this movie.” Does their opinion matter for you if you liked it ? Not a little bit. I just choose not to watch the movie and commented why I did it (the reason for the latter is unknown to me). I did not, however, intend to dismiss your opinion as invalid or unnecessary so I don’t see our argument exchange as a pointless fight.

    hey futtbucker…what an appropriate name…

your 3 “pearls of wisdom” pointers made me feel sorry for you.. ….people must stop squabbling and “one upping” each other….cos you say so…then you try your own hand at “one upping”…and then call everybody retarded…the old “do as i say, not as i do” trick eh??
Nearly every sentence you typed came from some kind of “superiority Complex” angle….
As for referring to 50cent as a retarded chimp…..thats getting into racism of the worst kind….do you really believe thats the way to go??Dont like him??…fine.Calling him racist names??…not fine.

i just dont like people like you…racists speaking shit .

Another gay war movie? No wait…

Another gay war movie with 50 cent? Holy hell, this has “don’t watch” written all over it! But then again…

Another gay war movie with 50 cent and piece-of-ass Jessica Biel? Hmmmm, she IS quite tasty. Still, not worth to bother with I think.

And 50 cent is perfectly cast, he’s a brainless poser, like all soldiers in the US Army (a.k.a. criminals education camp). GET OUT OF IRAQ AND THE ARMY AND START DOING SOMETHING USEFULL!!!

all this thing about the Iraqi War

the only thing that I can tell to out fellows in the US, is that sometimes we (outside America) get to see video’s of your president that you own TV network doesn’t show

the first part of the movies is just OK, some action
the second part is just about the tragedy all the soldiers have after they come back from the War, but please, they choose to go to the army and they get paid for it, this is the cost they need to pay if the get into this kind of situations…

Me, I was obliged to go 1 year in the Army and In time of War, I have to go and serve my country. Soldiers who get paid, this is your JOB, live with it!

sorry to disagree Mike(staff),but thats a very simplistic view…..
tens of thousands of troops serving in Iraq are infact Reserves…dentists, mechanics, plumbers etc….who never believed they would be a part of an Invasion of a Sovereign State….

I watched this alone, it brought a tear to my eye and I have no doubt I’ll have another bad night.

Before all of you whingers start complaining, you should try to understand something you’ve never experienced.

30 years after Vietnam the exact same thing happened to me and most of my Battalion. How would you like to have constant nightmares, live on a drawer full of pills, be afraid of what might happen if you go out, not fit in anymore and not care!

What was said and shown in this movie is NOT cliches – it is very, very real!! It doesn’t matter if it’s Iraq, Vietnam, Korea or WWII – the end result is the same.

    Remember this before you complain…

It is the Soldier, not the Reporter who has given us the freedom of press.
It is the Soldier, not the Poet who has given us the freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the Campus Organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the Soldier who salutes the Flag,
    who serves beneath the Flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the Flag,
who allows the Protester to burn the Flag.

Freedom isn’t free!! It’s paid for in blood and suffering.

typical propaganda style film. this is not at all an accurate representation about daily life in whogive-a-fuk-a-stan . the sets are obviously fake and small (why is there anti-american messages spray painted on the walls in ENGLISH supposedly written by iraqis) . there are smoke bombs going on when none where were set off, erm.. what else ? the us military does not train the troops for stupidity, like that whole ‘catch the militant’ part. yeah, let’s just run into a trap by ourselves because we’re selfish actors. and as usual, the sneaky militant ‘jumps’ away from his capturers. and they don’t play that allah song thing which BTW is played during the mosque and NOT just randomly over megaphones in little villages that can’t afford them.
