In this ceaselessly fascinating German documentary – an absolute must-see for all armchair war buffs – Hitler’s desire to strike at the heart of America is vividly detailed by contemporary interviews and a remarkable array of rarely seen archival footage, much of it in colour. As far back as 1937 Hitler was shown a full-scale mock-up of an aircraft that could take the war to the US. Like many Messerschmitt designs, the ME 264 (or America Bomber) was way ahead of its time, its primary purpose being to inflict psychological damage on the American war effort.
Adolf Hitler’s megalomania knew no limits: from the very outbreak of war, his strategists were forging plans to attack the USA. The most daring of these involved suicide missions, in which squadrons of German fighter planes would crash into Manhattan’s skyscrapers as living bombs. Large cargo planes would carry small planes over the Atlantic. The fighter planes would then disengage, and their pilots would steer them into the skyscrapers of New York – a 9/11 scenario contemplated half a century earlier.

Well, we all know e would have needed the help of time traveling aliens to accomplish this, but thanks to that bloke out of Quantum Leap and some dodgy script writing, it never came to be
In the autumn of 1939 the Polish army start to bombard Germany along the entire border with no previous provocation at all. As reward the Polish have been promised Schlesien(sp?)/Pommern(sp?) and East Prussia and that the population in those areas would be killed/expelled.
Hitler ask the Polish to stop the bombardment but get no reply. After 5 hours the he give orders to fire back and start mobilization (Poland had mobilized a few week earlier but Hitler had not mobilized to try to keep the peace.)
After the war, in 1946, a trial is held in Germany/Nuremburg where it is acknowledged that the Pollacks started artillery fire into Germany but that the Germans first had used SS troops, dressed in Polish uniforms, to attack a German radio station along the border, to provoke a war.
According to British newspapers the radio station had then spread lies about the Polish starting the war witch in turn German Newspapers and Media had used as rationale for starting the war.
Problem was: the allied was unable to point out a single German newspaper mentioning the story…the entire claimed attack on the radio station is not to be found in any German documents at all?.
Also: for the Polish army to, at a certain time, start a coordinated artillery barrage does require something, soldiers must be put on the alert, artillery pieces must be unpacked and prepared, sharp ammunition must be brought forward, a schedule must have been made in advance, orders must have been prepared and distributed and so on.
The fantastic thing is, after having discussed stuff like this for a few weeks the Allied gave the whole point up!, they changed the accusation from ’starting the war’ in the 1946 trial to ‘conspiracies against peace’ in the 1948 trial. Incredible but true.

i think just because you find war history interesting aseptically WW2 doesn’t make you a nazi lover.. just im fascinated in how it was allowed to happern in the first place.. and make us learn to make it never happen again.

All the Axis powers had plans to invade the USA.
Besides the America Bomber plan, Germany dumped a few men on the Eastern coast but they were captured before they could sabatoge certain infrastructure targets. Germans did bomb North America but is was an island of Canada’s. Several American ships engaged in battle with German UBoats off the Eastern coast which were in plain site of civilians watching from the beach.
Japan invaded or attacked multiple US protectorate islands such as Hawaii, Philipines and the Aleautians. The Japanese were only 1200 miles or so away from Alaska (reason why the Alaskan Highway was built bu the US) and had an invasion plan for Alaska as well as the Western coast of the USA. Japan was the only Axis power to actually bomb the USA.
The Italians had a plan to invade the USA with minisubs but as usual they screwed up, then changed sides to the Allies.
Some dumbass broad on a different forum believed that the Axis powers weren’t going to invade the USA, much less have any serious plan. Germany’s meticulous documentation proved that not only did Hitler have a plan for invasion, one in which he ordered further clarification, but that the plan was conceived BEFORE war was declared on the USA. That stupid bitch surely was a product of public schools to be that ignorant.

Wtf? Where did you take those propaganda? Polish army in ‘39 not only don’t have bombers but only what have was paper dummy air planes… German special troops undercover attacked own radio station and all fault drop on to Polish army. With that pretext Hitler start war.

i think those documentarys might be useful for some! american people. spreading the fact that hitler was killed at the end of ww2 might be new to many amaricans.
