History Channel Lost Worlds S01E06 Hitlers Supercity DSR XviD-TBS

TV-ripping group TBS (total bull shit) brings us a show broadcast from the History channel. The show’s description said that Hitler caused more death and destruction than anyone in history. But with destruction, what about the Romans and the Spanish Conquistadors ? Didn’t they also cause mass death and destruction ? Well this docu focuses on the first architect of the Third Reich; Albert Speer. Speer was Hitler’s chief architect before becoming his Minister for Armaments during the war. He reformed Germany’s war production to the extent that it continued to increase for over a year despite ever more intensive Allied bombing. After the war, he was tried at Nuremberg and was sentenced to twenty years’ imprisonment for his role in the Third Reich. As “the Nazi who said sorry”, he was the only senior Nazi figure to admit guilt and express remorse. Computer generated imagery bring his monstrous building ideas to life – from an Olympic Games plaza to seat 405K people, to the Triumphas Arch, which could fit the height of the Eiffel Tower. I have found a more reliable image host now, with photobucket. It has multiple uploading and some other goodies that I find useful.

Hitler caused more death and destruction than anyone else in history. But he also planned to build on a massive scale and place a new Germany on a par with ancient Greece and Rome. Our investigators piece together a picture of how Hitler wanted Germany to look from the ruins of what was built and from plans of his architect Albert Speer. In Nuremberg, we recreate the Zeppelin Tribune: where 60,000 people could overlook a parade ground. We reveal the real purpose of the stadium Speer planned to hold the Olympic Games–with seating for 405,000 people. And we rebuild, with computer-generated images based on Speer’s plans, the monuments Hitler planned for himself: the Triumphal Arch–twice the height, and four times the width of Paris’s Arc de Triomphe–and the People’s Hall–a structure so big the Eiffel Tower could fit inside it. Monstrous, intimidating, built on slave labor–this is the Lost World we’d now inhabit if WWII had gone differently.

“Hitler caused more death and destruction than anyone else in history.”

I don’t know about destruction but when it comes to deaths, Hitler doesn’t hold a candle to both Stalin (~20Mio) and Mao Tse-Tung (~60Mio).

yeah it’s all western propaganda, Soviets were allies,
so Stalin couldn’t be so bad after all, right?! ;-)
but the real evil was always on the east,
how often we can watch in tv shows about war crimes of other nations,
for ex. British invented Concentration Camps, Gerries only learned how to use them to meet their needs…
