History Channel Life After People DOCU 2008 DVDRiP XViD-DOCUMENT

History Channel is probably the best you can get if you want to watch interesting documentaries. There’s been a new release of their latest production called Life After People, which describes how is the Earth going to look after people vanish from its surface. The 1 CD rip has a slightly unusual resolution of 480 x 272 pixels, but it’s still watchable.

THE HISTORY CHANNEL and Academy Award-winning special effects studio Industrial Light and Magic (Star Wars Harry Potter) join forces to imagine the state of planet Earth years after humans disappear. Stunning visual effects show how the environment will change as dams overflow buildings crumble and fires engulf once-mighty cities. Domestic animal life will die out and new species will claim their territory. Books and photographs will be reduced to faded scraps while other signs of our existence may remain for eternity standing as the tombstones of human civilization.Through striking movie-quality special effects coupled with interviews with experts in the fields of engineering botany ecology biology geology climatology and archeology LIFE AFTER PEOPLE sheds light on the state of the world days weeks and years after humans cease to exist.

“Life After People, which describes how is the Earth going to look after people vanish from its surface”, a documentary about the future on the History Channel… seems a bit daft.

also just to say again: the mp4 works with windows media player and media player classic.

i only thought it was audio only because it opened with winamp when i first opened it and had no video.. just open it with the players mentioned above.

  29. Joe
    May 27th, 2008 | 13:30

The premise of the show is a tad ‘daft’ – what happens after all humans on Earth instantaneously vanish. This aired shortly after I Am Legend hit theaters.

It’s watchable though, if you’re into gee-whiz CGIs and some scifi pretending to be a documentary. (The National Geographic Channel made a similar infotainment program that was complete snooze.)

So I guess it is safe to assume that, in essence, the future holds for us the following things:
Urban big game, loads and loads of gras growing out of the tarmac and, with a 50% chance, Will Smith!

p.s. that was the future in a nutshell, watching of neither “i am legend” nor “life after people” is required of you now.

Next week: The music of the future by world renowned artist Rob “Marceli” Zombie : “More percentage than percentage”

This is strange. I’m having just the opposite problem than most. I downloaded the version on Megaupload up top, and it extracts as an MP4. I CAN open and play the video in Media Player.. but there’s no sound! Renaming the extension to AVI just yields the same results!

Damn! I thought I had MP10 (my preferred) with ALL the codecs it needed to play everything.. and then this.

Quite believable except for domestic animals perishing. I think the domestic cat would easily adapt to this scenario. Simply put, they’re smart efficient hunters that wouldn’t have any problems with food, shelter or larger predatory animals.

We have a few cats, and if we don’t feed them enough, they usually just go snack on a few indian mynor birds :)

Of course the human race will become extinct. How ignorant can people get? Whether by our own hand or by natural disaster, the human race will most definitely die out. Obviously it could be thousands of years, but if you consider how old our earth is, and how long we have been here, it is bound to happen. 99.99% of all species have gone extinct, and it is only a matter of time before we join them

    May 30th, 2008 | 04:44

I enjoyed this movie. It tells what would happen to world if all men would disappear. Although they tell what would happen to cars, buildings, power plants, oceans, dogs, cats, mices etc. they forgot to mention what would happen to women. Strange.

  82. Despot
    May 30th, 2008 | 10:41

women couldn’t breed and die out. It’s a funny point of view, but by “men” it is to be onderstood as “men kind” not man, as male.

  83. dd
    May 30th, 2008 | 15:47

Women would die out much sooner than that. There would be nobody to feed it, cloth it. And while dogs might be suittable to adapt, women are not. Die off of women would be much higher than pet dogs.

Vision from this movie aplies both to situations where “men kind” and “men” would dissapear.

  84. dd
    May 30th, 2008 | 15:50

Just imagine what would women do if there where no new food in storers. Scavange, then starve to death.
