History Channel Britain BC WS PDTV XviD-hV

In AD 60, queen Boudica led a violent revolt against Roman invaders. The Romans were unable to defend themselves. They were preoccupied, hundreds of miles away on the island of Anglesey, the last home of the druids. These mysterious priests were the inheritors of a religion which has been at the centre of British lives for thousands of years. In one battle, the romans killed them all. Why were the Romans more interested in oppressing this bunch of priests than defending their heartland ? What secrets did this religion hold ? And what threat could it have possibly posed to the mighty Romans ? This whole documentary is about Britain, and its time before Christ. Francis Pryor, an archaeologist, narrates and hosts the documentary. All the brits reading this should go ahead and give this one a watch.

Wikipedia

The most comprehensive vision of pre-Roman Britain ever to be shown on television portrays not crude, uncivilized savages but a highly developed, cultured people.

What a pile of steaming tosh.

There is no evidence written or otherwise which depicts or describes the pre-roman British religion, rites or ritual of the so called druids. And the aboriginal Britons were not ‘Celtic’, ‘Angle’ or ‘Saxon’. No Briton needs to watch a 45minute television programme about Boudicea or the Roman occupation.

The ’show’, and I call it a ’show’ rather than a factual documentary. Is totally emersed in perpetuating and inventing a white anglo-saxon mythology.

Take it all with a large pinch of salt.

“before Christ”…. sheesh!.. When was Boudicea born again?
    Before or after Christ?

Did not Joseph of Aremethea (Jesus uncle) plant his staff at Glastonbury (Avalon)..Is there not a legend the Mother Mary built the first above ground church in Britain?, Is there not legends of Jesus visiting Britain, and Britain is his burial place?

Was not Britain the first to be converted to Christianity?

Get your history head on chaps.

I agree with Finn and Brian about your dates, although the doco is great.
If Boudicca’s uprising was in AD 60 (which it was) how can the doco be about events BC??

Because it only uses the rather surprising success (or – more accurately – one of the main reasons for the success) of the “uprising” as a referencing starting point.
