Highlander The Source R5 XviD-RUSH

A new highlander, a new screw up? I have only seen the original Highlander, which was freakin’ awesome by the way, because I heard nothing but criticism about all the sequels. I will have to check all of them out some day but I can’t start with this one of course. I just wonder how bad this movie is when considering the ration in which each new Highlander has had worse reviews and then taking into account that this is already the 5th Highlander movie. Also, nobody appears to even know of the existence of a 5th Highlander movie so info is very hard to find.

The world is falling into chaos. As he roams a crumbling city, Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander, remembers happier times before the love of his life left… Hopeless and alone, MacLeod finds his way to a band of immortal companions, including his mysterious friend Methos, and a mortal, Watcher Joe Dawson. Together this small group sets out on a quest to find the origin of the first Immortal and The Source of their immortality.

The series wasn’t too bad, but the idea sort of took a turn for the surreal with the film sequels; started reading like a Ron L Hubbard book..

    Re: Highlander: The Source

    To our faithful fans.

Any version of Highlander: The Source that is currently available is not the final producers’ version of the film. Peter Davis and Bill Panzer of Davis/Panzer Productions, the producers, in conjunction with Lionsgate Entertainment, are presently editing and remixing the film. This final cut will be delivered to Lionsgate on or about March 15, 2007.

Lionsgate will be releasing the film in September, 2007.

I bet they are saying this just to avoid it spreading.
Perhaps a few minor tweaks to the soundtrack.

The first film was really good, the second one(the future one, the quickening) produced by a totally different company sucked bad. The third one was nicely produced but lacking in content and story. The fourth on was better but not as good as the first.

Theres also the series which had a few good episodes but in general was crap.

    yeah load of rubbish

  37. February 26th, 2007 | 10:53

Um… what the heck are you guys smoking?

This movie won’t be released until SEPTEMBER 2007!!!!!

How can you have already seen it?

“The final cut will be delivered to Lionsgate on or about March 15, 2007.” For the record… that’s about three weeks in the future, brainiacs.

The final cut isn’t even DONE yet to even pirate this movie prior to its release.

“Lionsgate will be releasing the film in September 2007.”

Obviously, Endgame and The Source completely ignore the continuity set forth in the original Highlander, the horrible Highlander 2: The Quickening, the redone Highlander 2: Renegade Edition, and Highlander III: Test of Time. Instead, these newest two Highlander movies follow the continuity of the TV series.

“Celebrating 20 years of The Legend, Davis-Panzer Productions, Sequence Films and Grosvenor Park are proud to announce the upcoming 2007 release of HIGHLANDER: The Source. Brett Leonard is the director with Adrian Paul playing the immortal Scottish swordsman, Duncan MacLeod.

This new adventure, starring Adrian Paul is the first feature in the Trilogy. The Source tells the story of Immortals as they quest to locate the Holy Grail of their world. The entire series of films will chronicle the origins of the Immortals.”

I…um…er… “THEIR” world? What the? Don’t tell me they’ve gone back to the Highlander 2 thought of them being aliens… oh geez!

Can this series take much more of this? *sigh*

  38. February 26th, 2007 | 11:00

Ooops… I meant “Highlander III: The Final Dimension” not “Test of Time” *chuckle*.

  39. February 26th, 2007 | 22:34

Actually Chokra Broodslayer, all the Highlander’s are cannon, that is, they do continue from one another. The second one (The Quickening) threw everyone off from starting off around some planet (Ziest), and getting banned from that planet to earth. The Renegade version tried to make things comprehensable by eliminating that other planet all together and making it seem like they got banned from the past into the future. I believe that they wanted to make the origin of these “immortals” be from another planet this whole time, and it would make sense. They just never got to that point.

I am a Highlander fan, and only got dissapointed with the lack of production, since they could’ve given us so much more. Now’re they’re going to.

    —————————————————————-

you are posting in a thread about the dvd release of the movie so how the fuck do you think people have seen it……..
IT IS OUT, TO BUY ON DVD!!!
JUST BECAUSE IT’S NOT IN YOUR COUNTRY DOESN’T MEAN IT ISN’T REAL.!!!
IT IS NOT A PIRATE VERSION
you can buy it at any store in russia perfectly legally, as for not being the final edit of the movie, who knows but i’m sure there will be minor changes if any from this version & surely as a fan you would appreciate the chance to see 2 different cuts of this movie, however minor any differences may be.
Watch this now & the western release in september or whenever it turns up, quality is dvd & has 5.1 english & russian audio tracks, watch it & then say how unfinished it is…..

This movie was good, just not a big budget so some of the fight scenes are kinda cheap. First was best, and this one was awesome.
