IDM is the best in my opinion; it seems very solid and responsive, like a native Win32 app should be.

Flashget and Orbit (basically the same program) have possible security concerns, Flashget’s being the constant attempts to access “fake” ED2K servers regardless of whether or not ED2K is disabled (according to PeerGuardian), and Orbit exhibits some phone-home behavior that may or may not be benign, e.g. for update purposes. Orbit also has the stupid tendency to not include download links when you try to “Download All” in Firefox, which is usually the only option without another bloody extension.

IDM 5.12 with speed limiter option has surpassed Flashget, IMHO – the one reason I used both IDM and Flashget was that once upon a time, not long ago, IDM woul eat up all of my bandwidth on a download. Sure, I got it incredibly fast – but there was no control – it was like Speedy Gonzales on crack! So when I needed to control things I used Flashget. After the speed limiter was added to IDM, it made it more stable (oh and I forgot to mention, cracks that don’t time out…) and I find myself not really needing Flashget at all.

Flashget also has a problem with it’s download history log. Ideally, I’d like to keep a record of everything I have downloaded – even if it means my log is 15 years old and 12 gigs… Flashget starts crapping out when the log gets big (I have been merging mine for years – until about two years ago when Flashget started choking on the log file). Does that mean IDM’s logging is better? I don’t know – but the point is that Flasget is showing it’s age, and is not being updated to be able to handle the new systems, and the larger burden of work being thrown at it. It was pure genius in the 1.5mps days – but now it’s 6, 10 even 20mps and Flashget is getting left in the blocks…

could somebody help me please with this one, I never had problems before with registering a sceneproduct. But this “keygen” only plays a small movie end then exits the app itself.

Don’t bother downloading. The keygen doesn’t even work, it asks for an email that is not provided and does not register.

Anti-viruses have a tendency to detect key-gens as Trojans. They aren’t, so it’s no need for concern.

Thanks, do you remember where you found Download Tweak?

All I could find on the Add-Ons Mirror was Download Manager Tweak, which didn’t say anything about downloading videos. I tried searching Google, but it just turned up a lot of unrelated matches. I know there are other video “download” extensions, but most of them just provide an easy way to save the files from the cache.
