Heroes S01E23 HDTV XviD-LOL

Okey, so the first season of Heroes is over! The last episode called “How to Stop and Exploding Man” was aired yesterday and all fans of this show are now busy with discussions what will happen next. (Spoilers) If I should express my opinion, I was expecting a lot more. The thing is the overexcitement which was supported during the whole season – authors convincted us to believe there will be some superb battle of all heroes at the end, but nothing of that happened. The writing for last episode could be also a lot better – the first 15 minutes were only recapping the last events and it all took little too long. Yeah, many things were finally explained, but if you watch something for more than half a year, then you expect something really cool at the end.

There were also certain plot holes – why couldn’t Peter stop his explosive power, when he could control all others? Why couldn’t he fly away on his own, leaving Nathan on the ground and giving him a chance to survive. Also the death of Sylar could look little better, one stab from Hiro, come on! So my impression from this season finale isn’t that cool as from the whole story which rocked – I’m pretty sure many of you have seen better endings from other TV shows. Anyway, we can look forward to “Volume Two”. Creators of Heroes promised many new characters in the Season 2, but there will be probably many connections with all old heroes, as almost all of them survived. Save the cheerleader, Save the world.

Episode plot:  With all the horrible predictions unfolding before them the heroes face moments of pain and peril in Kirby Plaza.

    [Spoilers]
The stab was too low for the heart but it was central enough to sever the spine (also keep in mind the manhole cover!)
Teds power always seemed to be triggered by anger so I think Peter couldn’t control it because he couldn’t calm down. Also I think he was having trouble concentrating just not to explode, let alone activate another power.

My only major disappointment is I wanted to see a proper battle between the two multi-powered characters like that which happened in the 5 years later episode behind a door somehow being held back by mohinder.

    Spoiler

well evedently sylar is still alive(the manhole at the end) but i just didnt get why nobody shot peter in the back of the head, and a better battle between good and evil could have taken place.

I felt like the ending of the series could have been sooo much better then it was.. 10/10 if the bomb had actually blown up instead of that crap where Nathan (pretty obviously) dies. I haven’t felt this let down since the ending of The Fugitive.

ending could’ve been done better. seemed rushed at the end and had some annoying plot holes.

As for peter not flying on his own I always thought he could only use 1 power at a time.

  12. jeff
    May 22nd, 2007 | 16:19

maybe peter did not fly because he can only use 1 power at a time and since his using the bomb power or something, he cant fly

    May 22nd, 2007 | 16:38

The writing for the final moments was very sketchy. Peter is losing control? Oh no what can we do… maybe just knock him out like we did when he first met Ted? Nope. Or even shoot him since he cant die anyway? Nope, stupid.

Sylar getting stabbed was odd since he had so much time to stop Hiro, but I think he wanted them to think he was dead. His escape into the sewer unoticed by all was absurd however. The fact that the other Heroes didnt rip his corpse to shreds is also silly.

At least Hiro flying back in time was really cool and it promises some story development… since we arnt getting that anywhere else.

Anyway Parkman had better freaking die in season 2 after what Sylar did to him.

    May 22nd, 2007 | 17:02

Yeah I agree, the ending couldve been a lot better. They couldce easily extended the episode length a few more minutes and given us something concrete. I still can’t believe all the heroes didnt notice Sylar leaving.. What the hell!! I guess they wanted him to come back the next season.. which isnt so bad.. but chasing sylar would get a little old.. Maybe they will introduce another super villian. I think Sylar will probably come back in season 3 or something. That’ll give the writers a chance to not make the show so much like season 1.

Anyways.. cant wait for the next season!!

    May 22nd, 2007 | 17:56

Massive anti-climax and the season finale really doesn’t deliver. It should have at least been a 2 hour finale “Lost” style. It seem they have no budget for special fx so instead of a mighty battle between two all powerful ‘heroes’ they insteade leave us a weak cop out at the end. Such as good series deserved a better finish to it’s first volume. I hope volume two is improved.

    *SPOILERS*

    >>The fact that the other Heroes didnt rip his corpse to shreds >>is also silly.

Haha.. yeah, the heroes ripping up a corpse. That would’ve made the episode perfect. :) Sylar is too interesting of a character to not give a better sendoff. He’ll be back.

I figure season 2 will mostly be about Hiro finding his roots (Ando is out of the picture), and Heroes from the ancient past (the Yamagato website kinda hints at this).

Claire will appear now and then, the rest will be cameos. Sounds ok to me.

  17. Jerry
    May 22nd, 2007 | 18:03

Sylar could stop Hiro, He could stop 3-4 bullets and he can’t stop a running man?

  18. D
    May 22nd, 2007 | 18:39

Sylar obviously used his ability to liquify to escape into the sewer.. there is nothing the others could ahve done to prevent that. Sylar can also use more than 1 power at the same time and seems to be able to master them like the original owners couldnt. so im guessing if he liquifies and forms back that he is whole again and not injured.

Molly hinted at a foe far worse than the boogieman. Could that be Momma Patrelli or the Black guy?

The writing definetly has wholes in it, I think Peter can use more than 1 power at a time. Being in contact with Sylar he should have been able to absorb all the powers Sylar had that he didn’t. Its ludacris they way they show Sylar as this unstoppable force when it should be Peter. Peter should have been waxing Sylar like Neo from the Matrix.

Overall we are all disappointed because we see the pontential for greatness from this series. The only character that thinks logically is Sylar unfortunetly.

    SPOILERS

I was a bit disappointed especially after Kring had hyped the finale episode up in multiple interviews. He said everything would make sense and the episode would introduce a bunch of new characters for the forth coming seasons. No new characters introduced except the superman Molly told about and maybe that black chick’s father will have a bigger role from now on.

Sylar is obviously alive taking account that it’s been said he’ll be in a big role also in season 2 not putting aside the clear dragging/crouching marks on the asphalt.

Hiro will probably mess with his ancestors in the past judging from the name of the volume 2: Generations. Not putting aside that one of the Samurais(I assume Kensei)looked like Hiro’s father..

It was said that the final episode would bring together every character and they all would have their part to play in saving the world. And all this would be executed in a totally believable way.
Well fine, most of the characters had some role to play but I think all that mess was far from believable. One moment Sylar’s wiping the floor with everyone and looking all badaas and everything, the other moment he’s getting stabbed by Hiro. Maybe Hiro stopped partly the time or Sylar wanted intentionally to go down, because nobody could’ve hit Sylar with a sword like that. Remembering the fact that Sylar stops bullets and god knows what.
The episode left my rumbling with multiple questions like Why didn’t Hiro transport Peter somewhere or stick Peter in the face with his all-mighty-Sylar-stabbing sword.
    That wasn’t kewl mmkkay??

    \/SPOILER\/

I thought the ending with Hiro being sent to the past was great and hopefully will set up another story for the next series the same as him going to New York did for the first.

The fight between Sylar and Peter could have been better with them each using the powers the’ve collected, but was still a good ending.

As far as being more powerful than Sylar I think Peter can only take Sylars powers as he uses them (he used TK while in the high school)as they are not really his powers but sort of “grafted” on. The fact he now has Nicki’s super strength is cool and should be interesting next season.

Also as he (peter) was in the courtyard with DL, Micah and Molly does this mean he now has those powers also?

And the big bad next season most likly is the “he can see me” guy molly was talking about, whom I think is another member of the old people super cabal of Linderman, dying black guy, Sulu and peters mother(who I think works for him). He’s probably another version of the peter/sylar multipowered type.

    SPOLIERS AGAIN JEESUS

Ok Im very grateful for this site but again again again it seems to be the worse place to look if you haven’t actually seen the episode or film yet!

No longer is it just about posting specs on the item its got to be more now – more stuff we DONT NEED TO KNOW !

Tv guides sometimes include such details but those that wish to avoid know stuff can avoid them.

Right now Im avoiding coming here before Ive downloaded the torrent and watched it elsewhere as it seems to be the only way to avoid ruining a show is to avoid this place.

Sure post the word spoiler but then to examine the episode giving away details before anyone has a chance to download it? Dumass is a word isnt I know others too.

Its not easy to scroll down a page looking for the link without seeing something – a distinctive word or giant photo spoiling a section of the item.

By all means let have a forum to discuss stuff or even do it in here making sure that anyone who looks here to see if there are any probs doesn’t get it spoilt again.

RIGHT LOST IS ON TOMMOROW WHO IS IN CHARGE OF RUINING THAT FOR US ALL?

They are called spoilers for a reason you know….

  25. asiak
    May 22nd, 2007 | 20:19

skeev, it isn’t that difficult to read the title (HEROES), then think ‘oh, i haven’t seen this’.. then scroll down to the red Torrent link. Seriously. It’s not.

  26. UnGreat
    May 22nd, 2007 | 20:19

The fact that the word spoiler is on the opening page gives people the impression that discussing plot points will not be a problem.

And if you read a post that has spoilers why would you then read all the responses as they would doubtless (as mine did) contain even more spoilers.

As far as ruining Lost, it’s turns out the whole island is an elaborate episode of Punk’d and Hurly is Ashton Kutcher in a fat suit.

  27. May 22nd, 2007 | 21:12

Abuh I also didnt see this I saw heroes and thought yes download dont read the article at first PLUS it had SPOILER in it.

    SPOILER!!!

Sylar is not dead, peter couldnt fly and peter couldnt regenerate becuz he was busy using the exploding power. Shoot him was kill I think nathan took him up and flew away wich would not kill Nathan. Peter will survive cuz he was in the future. Hiro was kick ass Nicki is in charge and everybody is oke. only heroes we might not see back DL, Parkman, Nathan. So no big losses!

I think Hiro’s stab was awesome because he just ran up to him didnt freeze time or anything he just straightforward PWND Sylar Hard, like IN YOUR FACE hard!
    AHHHH I want volume 2!!!!

How could anyone *not* get that there’ll be spoilers in a *BLOG* post about Heroes? There’s even a spoiler tag *in* the article…

Few hours before I watched Heroes I noticed an article at Salon.com with the headline Finale wrap-up: “Heroes” The season ends satisfyingly with a supernova of self-sacrifice… and guess what? I managed to *not* click on this article, ’cause I *knew* they’d spoiler this episode. If it takes you disciplin to do this I pity you, as just a little common sense should be enough.

    DL = Not Dead
Linderman – unfortunately dead…..I wish they didn’t kill him off…..

but yeah like most people are saying the ending was a bit of a let down, and that bit with Nathan flying in at the end in front of Claire….that was pure Cheese…”yes Claire, there is another way” at least Nikki is normal now…..isn’t she ;)

come on it wasnt all that bad. better to leave out the final showdown between peter and sylar, then to do it half-ass with cheesy ‘limited budget’ special fx and leave ppl rolling their eyes going ‘wtf was that??’ also, i think sylar thought hiro was a wuss hence didnt think he would actually charge him with the sword. remember how hiro reacted the last couple times he confronted sylar? but like someone already said, it’s sad that sylar is the only logically and believable character of the bunch.

  42. Misteritsy

  43. DSX
    May 24th, 2007 | 06:41

Don’t forget in the middle of all this main plot discussion, several critical things are going on in the background that are unresolved:

    A) The “old school” heroes – what are their powers? We’ve met 4 I think so far, Linderman (healer, dead) the brothers mother, the old sick guy who talked with peter, and Hiro’s father.

    B) The “tracking” girl said there was an even *worse* person out there then Syler, who could tell when she was thinking about him. Is that the old school hero that “betrayed” the first group? Sounds like Volume II’s nemesis or ally of recovering Syler etc.

    C) The government perspective: the FBI chick and her investigation into Syler’s murders, and their involvement in the special abilities issue as a whole, as well as the agency Clair’s father was with who is behind the scenes manipulating everyone. Who will take over there?

looking forward to season 2 :)

Although the finale wasn’t as grand as it could have been, it wasn’t terrible either to be honest.

I too was gutted that Linderman was killed off, his power was pretty cool.

I now look forward to the next season, which will hopefully have a larger FX budget.

    SPOILER

I don’t think Nathan dies either. Because five years in the future, we see sylar using Nathan’s powers to fly. That means he’s the one who finishes of Nathan and he doesn’t die in the explosion. And frankly, I don’t think the Petrelli mom would be such a powerful character equal to Sylar. And its probably not Hiro’s dad either. I am saying this because, he tells him he has waited a long time for a Nakamura to ascend. He wouldn’t have said that if he himself had a power equal to Sylar’s. And Peter can use more than one power at the same time too.. Remember the time he first found out that he can use others powers?? I remember him using Ted’s power to glow and becoming invisible at the same time. They showed it clearly. And when Mr.Bennet threw the projectile at him, he was flying and he was invisible. I am pretty sure of that even though we are able to see him. And in the future too, he stopped time when he was saving future Hiro from Matt Parkmann, and he used some of his other powers too I think. Also, during the fight, I don’t think he was using one power at a time. That makes it that Peter is pretty powerful, and Tim Kring just wants to pull it so he can make more seasons out of it. He knows Peter is so powerful that he can finish off Sylar in a second. And if you observe properly, you will notice that the place where Peter explodes is different in his dream, and different in the last season. Could it be possible that this is NOT the explosion actually ?? Because everything else that Isaac painted has come true too …

I think a lot of you totally missed the point here, Heroes wasn’t a 1 season deal so its obvious they aren’t going to sew up all the loose ends at the end of Season 1, that’d just be stupid and bad writting all round. Also the reason Peter doesn’t fly himself is somewhat obvious at best, he’s locked in a monumental struggle to stop himself from exploding, trying to fly at the same time is expecting a bit much from someone who struggles to control his powers. While Sylar is a master of his powers Peter is only just learning how to control his.
