Hero 2002 Directors Cut 720p HDDVD x264-SiNNERS

And here another SiNNERS post, they keep ‘em coming. This one was released yesterday (I think) so the post is a little bit late, sorry for that. Anyway, they are back with Hero (2002), also known as ‘Ying Xiong’. It has got a high IMDB-rate and I’ve read some good reviews of this one also, so I think this is a leech-and-go :)

In feudal China, the King of Qin is waging a bloody campaign to conquer the entire land. He has been made a target of three dangerous assassins: spear-wielding Sky, and the lovers Broken Sword and Flying Snow. One day word comes that he has nothing left to fear; a prefect known only as Nameless has killed all three assassins. Nameless is called to the palace and asked to recount the tale of how he accomplished this amazing feat. After he tells his story, however, the King notices some flaws in it…

what’s special about the director’s cut? is it only bonus material or is the movie a bit longer than the actual cinematical version?
the movie is very good, though. an epical martial arts monument.

why with these hdrips we do not have a standard. like it was on the cd age : 1*CD; 2*CD. DVD9 disks are really expensive compared to DVD5.

so it will be MUCH better to see hdrips like this : 1*DVD5, 2*DVD5. also .mkv with 5.1 or DTS should be the standard and not the wmv9/vc1. mkv is far more mature than wmv9.

That’s pretty much what I do with “DVD7” releases. Don’t really wanna waste a DL-DVD+R on them, so I back them up to 2 DVD5 discs along with other stuff and unrar them to the hard drive when I want to watch the movie again (if ever).

Wasn’t this the one with Quentin Tarantino’s name spammed all over it, despite the fact that he had nothing at all to do with the production?

I hated those previews, and the movie sucked just as much.

I know, of course, House Of Flying Daggerts. But thank you, beautiful too. Like Curse Of the Golden Flower (with a less good story than Hero or Flying).

Daggers. And 15/Hi . Hero is one of Tarantinos favorite movies, so his name hyped the movie furher.

I have the DVD RIP with English audio, why not the HD DVD?

    October 20th, 2007 | 14:56

This is just waaaaaaaaay too old, and the movie sucks too.

I believe it was Tina Turner who once sang – “We Dont Need Another Hero”.

Pls dont post about these types of movies again.

Nobody, i mean NOBODY wants to watch a movie about some Cho Seung-Huis. Dont support these guys like Cho Seung-Hui.

ok i know how to split an mkv, but there are others that don’t know this stuff. also will be very nice to have a release like 2*dvd5 with subtitles already split.
soon we will have STANDALONE HDRIPS PLAYERS(mkv/wm9) with an optical unit similar with the divx players. also these players will have hdmi output for 1080p ;) . it is very probable that they will include also a internal/external hdd.

Is a movie bad, because it is old (if 5 years is old)?? Do not decide for others, what they like or not.
Hero is a complex movie with great storytelling and a cinematography that beats the h**l out of all us movies.

    Over & out.

This movie has no English sound. It is Mandarin (not chinese).
Gotta go with subtitles. With is the best, in my opinion.

The photography in this movie is amazing! It should be a feast
    for the eyes in HD.

Get it if you didn’t have the chance to do it earlier.

Bram you are truly the best poster on this website IMO. Another beautiful movie.

@35 You aren’t too quick are you? There are dozens of different Chinese dialects. Mandarin and Cantonese are the 2 most common, and many cities/villages have their own regional dialects completely different from both Mandarin and Cantonese. Many Chinese people end up speaking a few different versions of Chinese.

This movie is awesome- the plot, the photography, the scenery, the special fx, everything just comes together to make a brilliantly executed movie that makes you realise how ‘generic’ most American movies are.

BTW House of the Flying Daggers was a little boring and overdone.

Around 85% of China speak Mandarin (conglomerate of many dialects, though).

The quality is perfect, but there is noise in the picture all, which is not supposed to be there. Unpacked it 3 times with different programs, keep getting same quality
