Henry Poole Is Here DVDRip XviD-ARROW

I wanna see this movie from reading about it it looks interesting, it’s about a guy named Henry Poole(Luke Wilson). Who finds out he only has 6 weeks to lives, who leaves everyone he has, and trys to spend his remaining days in seclusion.

Henry Poole (Luke Wilson) just wants to disappear. Shattered by circumstances beyond his control, he offers full price on a cookie cutter house in a drab, middle-class, L.A. neighborhood through his perky realtor Meg (Cheryl Hines). But just as he settles in to his indulgent isolation with a case of vodka and all the junk food he can eat, his neighbor, a well-meaning busybody named Esperanza (Adriana Barraza), drops by with a plate of homemade tamales and a whole lot of questions.

Despite his desire for solitude, Henry can’t help noticing Dawn (Radha Mitchell), the beautiful young divorce next door and her daughter Millie (Morgan Lily), an eight-year-old amateur spy who hasn’t spoken a word since her parents’ break-up.

It has some funny moments, but the underlying interventionist christian message is a bit overly heavy handed at times.

like others are saying… the christian message becomes a REAL turn off about an hour into the movie. up until then i was convinced i had found a new favorite film. but of course it turns into a preachy, corny, piece of garbage once the agenda becomes increasingly clear.

@7 You’re an idiot. Just because they talk about religion in this movie doesn’t make it a movie that god hating people (like me) won’t enjoy. It’s a drama. A very good drama, and if you have nothing to do with organized religion, or are a part of a different religion other then the one in the movie, it’s still very good. People hear the word “God” or “Jesus” and instantly make assumptions. You don’t have to believe in something or even agree with something to appreciate it, or at least be entertained. While this movie does have a lot to do with an image of ‘Mary’, the principle and what you will take away from it have very little, if anything, to do with religion.
Sorry. Just don’t like Naive people trashing good movies.

@7 Edit: Calling you an idiot wasn’t very constructive. I apologize for my comment. What i called you was a bit strong and i had to remind myself that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I to have no intrest in religion, but with that aside i really enjoyed this film. Again, I’m sorry.

This movie is crap. I found religion praying to god to give the time back to me for watching this awful flick.

Don’t wait your bits on this one…

Never@home , you hate something you don’t believe in, or what? Either way, shwag and e998 are just expressing their opinions, and you referring to anyone as an idiot for doing so makes you what, exactly? Apology not accepted.

This movie really annoyed the hell out of me.*

*That was a pun, Never@home. Just in case you were still so uptight about others not agreeing with your viewpoint you couldn’t figure it out. This movie is very preachy.

@13 You need to read post #11 again. I think it sums it up. How many people in this forum call people names and then go back to apologize on their own. I rushed my first post. I think many people rush to conclusions, but how many of those re-think their criticisms and openly apologize for their mistakes before getting flamed?

You’re right. I don’t hate religion. Like you mentioned, i just don’t believe in it. That too was a rush to get my point across. I don’t hate religion, it just doesn’t play a part in my life. I dislike organized religion for many reason. Not just because of my disbelief in god. I do however feel that to many people it serves as a path to living a happy and rewarding life. I’m not a hater, and although my first post may have come across like that, it was just my emotions beating my better judgment.
I don’t feel it was preachy. I feel it used religion to stress the idea that life is what you make it, and to never give up on yourself or anything for that matter. While that is a lesson often conveyed through the bible, i don’t believe you need to be religious to draw that conclusion on your own.

Well said Never@home! No harm, no foul and props to you for owning up and apologizing! and I do agree people complain that it’s a religious film before they even watch it. I don’t feel it is necessarily religious, but more shows us what our faith can do! not necessarily in god, but whatever you choose it to be

Observe things the way they are; Try not to judge or label, things are what they are; nothing more and nothing less. There is no “good”, “bad”, “right”, or “wrong”. Trying to fit things into preconceived categories will only lead to conflict and discontentment.

jeez why in hell do the xtians try and hide their beliefs. I unnerstand they’re desperate to drag some more unquestioning 10 per centers down to their smarmy mouthed god botherer but the chances of getting one outta this forum that lives close enough to get brownie points from their vicar is slimmer than the odds of em having a life after death, that is non existent.

If this movie’s promo said “god bothering plot only xtians will be interested”, fair enough but it doesn’t. Yet that is the only people who could be interested in the ploddingly predictable plot.
these ninnies who claim to believe this is a great movie, yet deny that they are xtian would be wise to confine their evangelical efforts to to the intellectually disabled, since NE1 else is gonna see thru em quick smart.
Lyin yer way into god’s good books? that’s hardly xtian LOL.
Nauh I forgot xtians have always lied to spread their superstition, when that hasn’t worked, they murder.

Nice mob. Practically every other religion keeps to itself; proselytising is not part of the ethos, but xtians never stop trouble making, and the 2 faced hypocrites then adopt that holier than thou attitude after they’ve conned and cheated innocents.

just like this movie and the self proclaimed non-xtians who claim it is great.

    @Strumpa

Because while the supernatural doesn’t exist, people who trust magic more than science do. The US is starting to fall behind because the public is terrified of scientific advance, and thinks that disease can be cured by icons and prayer. They’ll let their kids suffer and die, and even force that suffering onto strangers, because they’re so sure these kinds of things are real. That’s why a movie that mocks people who actually take the time to investigate supposed miracles, and discover they’re ‘all’ just placebo and lies, is galling.
