    Nice post.. out to play this one now ! To few smal good games get relased these days, way to much of overhyped gfx effects and non-playability games out… crysis anyone :P

    What is a halo?

    A halo is a thin ring of light that sometimes appears around the sun or the moon. Halos are formed by the refraction (bending) of light as it passes through small, hexagonal (six-sided), pencil-shaped ice crystals high in the sky.

    The two most common types of halo are the 22 degrees halo and the 46 degrees halo. The number of degrees in a halo refers to the angle by which light is refracted through the ice crystals. For instance, if light is bent at an angle of 22 degrees, it will form a circle of light with a radius (the length of a line segment from the center of a circle to its boundary) of 22 degrees. The 22-degree halo is smaller than the 46-degree halo and more tightly encircles the sun.

    A HALO (High Altitude Long Operation) aircraft is an aircraft designed to act as a very high altitude receiving and transmitting tower, circling a metropolitan area and providing broadband telecommunication service at data rates up to 5 Mbps to homes and up to 25 Mbps to business users with dedicated lines. Angel Technologies plans to launch a HALO-based series of metropolitan area networks (MANs). In each city, a single aircraft flying at about 52,000 feet will be able to service home and business users over a 60 mile area. Three aircraft will take turns, each flying an 8-hour shift. Users on the ground will mount a small external antenna outside their home or building. The airplane will link users with each other or with Internet service providers (ISPs) and telephone company offices for connection to networks outside the metropolitan area. Tens or even hundreds of thousands of users can be serviced. Rates are not yet announced.

    he word “halo” originated from a Greek word that simply meant the sun, or the sun’s disk. By literal definition, the photograph above, of the sun, is a halo.

    The pre-Christian Romans named their sun-god Helios and eventually began using the halo in their art, including of their “divine” emperors. When the Romans created their false version of Christianity, they carried over their use of the halo into supposedly Christian images whereby people eventually lost sight of what they were actually looking at.

    @ NEO (16):

    Yea same here. But this game really kicks ass compared to halo 3. Hell, i’ts even beter then Cryssis and Unreal Tournament 3!

  36. Better than big-box games
    December 9th, 2007 | 20:38

    Still better than anything you can make. I applaud games like this being made in the face of so much Halo 3 fanboy-ism.

    Indie films exist for the same reason — because we get tired of seeing Tom Cruise do the same b.s. movie after movie.

    Eventually you’ll get tired of your lame shooter games and look for something different. When Halo 100 comes out (”New Uniforms!”) you might get the hint then.

    Until then, keep Dewing the Dew, sheep.

    Does this work on windows 98?

  43. Rekrul
    December 11th, 2007 | 06:58

    @42 Tony Danza,

    I couldn’t find any mention of the minimum system requirements on the company web site (what is it with web sites not listed the requirements any more?), but I did find this page;

    http://www.bittorrent.com/users/phenomedia/torrents/Heart_of_Tibet/c59d62ab-5cb2-11dc-8ffc-00e081411f3f?expand=true

    Which claims it works under 98. Of course it also says that you need a 1.4Ghz CPU, which is ridiculous for a platform game.

  44. Tony Danza
    December 11th, 2007 | 17:30

    Thanks for the info Rekrul
    1.4ghz is hilariously excessive for this game. My old windows 98 pc is nowhere near 1.4 ghz. I was hoping this would have requirements similar to Jazz the Jackrabbit games.

    In order to run the game, I used a program called Daemon Tools which emulates your CD/DVD-ROM using a virtual drive, instead of burning the files.

    You can get DAEMON on this web site:
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_daemon_tools

    1.Download bit.torrent files
    2.Extract the files with WinRAR
    3.Open the BIN-fil with DAEMON Tools
    4.Install the game and play
